Lauren was shocked with the sight in front of her eyes, she felt like Alex's presence froze her in place, she couldn't move, she couldn't talk. His footsteps were too loud or it was her heart beating so fast and strong that it made her ears ring. He stopped few steps from her still remaining in the shadow of a tree.
"You made a mistake , Lauren." His words didn't sound like an advice of someone who is worried because of her choice, it sounded more like a threat. Lauren opened her mouth but nothing came out. She could never imagine that Alex could cause such a fear in her. When she remained silent he took one step closer to her.
