Chapter 4

1148 Words
The following day, Jasmine arrived at Eunice’s residence so they could go out and find clothes and jewelry that were appropriate for the event. Eunice already had an idea in her mind, but she still needed to find a suitable dress or gown that would make her curve visible. Her fashion style was somewhat conservative before, but now, her taste differs from what she’s used to. It would be more daring and fierce so they could feel her ability in the atmosphere the moment she entered. “Are you ready?” Eunice asked Jasmine, who was now nervous. Jasmine can make a portal, and since Eunice doesn’t want to travel for almost an hour using their carriage, she decided to ask her friend about this matter, even though it would cost a little bit of mana. “I’m having a bad feeling about your tone,” Jasmine admitted, but Eunice chuckled at what she heard. “I was just excited for the upcoming banquet, Jasmine. Don’t think too much,” she tried to soothe her friend, but Jasmine was still frightened. She saw something in her friend’s eyes but couldn’t name it since it was her first time seeing that emotion in her eyes. Instead of asking, she raised her hand until a light formed in her palm. The portal slowly appeared in their front, but no one dared to enter because of the man who appeared in the portal. “Percival,” Eunice muttered and couldn’t help but get hurt at what she saw. Yvette and Percival were also in the shop, looking for something. They were surrounded by a light yet calm aura whenever they were together. Both of them were also wearing a broad smile while they were looking for their outfit. “I’ll try to change the location,” Jasmine said when they both saw the scenario. “No,” Eunice stopped her friend when she saw about to use her ability again. “Don’t mind them.” “But you’re hurting, Eunice! I can’t just stand seeing you hurting because of them,” Jasmine retorted, but Eunice didn’t say anything and entered the portal without second thoughts. Jasmine didn’t know what to do when she witnessed how her friend, Eunice, crossed her portal even if her ex-mate was there. They could have just gone to another shop, but her friend just entered the portal without thinking if she would get hurt again. Although she knew that her friend was reckless sometimes, she couldn’t believe she would do it even if it would add more chaos to her life. “Greetings, Your Highness Eunice,” the shop staff greeted when she suddenly appeared in front of her. Eunice nodded and went to the nearest display to observe the design. She also felt Percival’s stare at her back, but she didn’t glance at him. Her heart clenched when she felt the unfamiliar pain in the middle of the forest when he rejected her, but she just tilted her head to remove that scene from her mind. “Why did you enter without warning?” Jasmine asked when she finally arrived. Eunice’s lips glanced at her friend, who was ranting, before returning her eyes to the emerald gown in front of her. “This gown suits you.” “I don’t like that,” Jasmine muttered as she stared at the modified A-line gown. “I prefer purple colors.” Eunice rolled her eyes when she heard what her friend said. It was her favorite color, so no wonder that she would be looking for purple gowns. The temperature of the shop suddenly went down because of Eunice’s ability. The Lycans inside the shop couldn’t help but feel cold, even if they wore thick coats. It’s good that Jasmine was wearing tons of coats since she was with Eunice, so she couldn’t be affected by what everyone felt. “Why is it cold?” Yvette asked, and Eunice heard that but chose not to react. “Who turned on the air conditioner of this shop?” The staff didn’t answer what she asked since everyone knew it was because of Eunice. They all zipped their mouths because everyone would be at risk if they answered it while Eunice was around. “Percival might die because of the cold. You all better turn of the f*****g air conditioner or I will all kill you,” Yvette threatened everyone. Percival bit his lower lip when he felt his ability wasn’t working. The temperature was so low that he couldn’t help but shake. “Percival,” Yvette said when she felt that Percival couldn’t walk because of Eunice’s ability. She tried her best to hug Percival so he could feel her body heat, but Eunice tried to lower the temperature again, causing Yvette to get mad at the staff and the owner. “What the hell is happening?” she tried to help Percival walk until they could reach the vacant chair a few inches away from Eunice. “Can’t you see that the Crowned Prince is getting weak because of the cold?” “Ma’am, the air conditioner is turned off and we tried to open the heater but I don’t think it will work right away,” the shop owner explained. Eunice couldn’t hide her smile when she felt someone’s eyes looking at her, and when she glanced at him, their eyes met. Percival’s eyes were glued to her, and Eunice didn’t dare look away to remind Percival of whom he had left and chosen. When the floor was suddenly covered with ice, Yvette finally saw the culprit. She gritted her teeth and tried to approach Eunice, who was staring at Percival, but Percival reached for her elbow to stop her. “You’re the mastermind behind the winter season, right?” Yvette asked. Eunice glanced at Yvette, who was fuming mad, but she just looked at her using her cold expression. It took her weeks to unwrap the mystery finally, but instead of feeling sorry, Eunice smirked at her. “It’s my ability,” Eunice admitted. “Do you have any problem with it?” “Yes! You’re killing Percival with your curse ability!” she exclaimed at the top of her lungs. “Why are you doing this, huh? Is it because Percival chose me over you? Can’t you just move on and let us be happy?” “I was just using my ability yet you’re accusing me of something you aren’t even sure of, eh?” Eunice whispered. Yvette was about to accuse her again, but Percival cut her off, “Stop, Yve!” Eunice smiled upon hearing what he said. She knew that Percival might still recognize her because they still had tons of memories, but her heart broke when she saw him glance at her, full of hatred written in his eyes.
