Chapter 9

The Turn of Tables

Deicide stood before Dion, Dion looked at him with a puzzled look. Dion smirked and said, “Among these all you are the most powerful one, aren’t you? Well, you are still ages behind me. May be you all together would have stood a chance against me but looks like odds are against you.”

Deicide looked around him and said, “Well, well, things often don’t go as planned.” Deicide walked towards Dion.

Dion smirked and rushed towards Deicide, Deicide dodged Dion’s try for grip. Deicide threw a punch at Dion, Deicide was fast, Dion knew there was no way he could dodge that, Dion blocked the attack with his hand but the impact sent him slipping for meters.

Jane stood behind Deicide, “Look after the others, Jill has a task to complete.” Deicide said.

“I can lend you a hand in injecting him.” Jane said.

“There’s no need for that, looks like one of them did it for us.” Deicide said, looking at a needle sticking to Dion’s trousers. Jane nodded and headed back to Jill. Deicide rushed towards Dion, and the combat began.

Jane reached to Jill, Sakura and Harry were already beside her, treating Chris.“Good work.” Jane said to Harry and Sakura, then she turned towards Jill and said, “The poison has been injected, it’s your turn.”

“Who injected it?” Sakura asked.

“Harry?” Jane asked, Harry nodded in denial. The three looked at each other, suddenly Sakura checked Chris’s pocket, there was no injector there.

“Chris, he did it.” Sakura said. Harry looked at Chris, he was still unconscious, Harry smirked and stood up.

“Where are you leaving?” Sakura asked.

“Even this fool gave it all he has got, then why am I here giving a half hearted try?” Harry turned around and headed for Deicide and Dion.

Jane looked at Jill, she was still in shock, her hands were shaking, she has gone pale. Jane took her hands in her own hands.

“Jill, you have to do it. Chris sacrificed himself because he knew you were our key to victory. You can’t betray his expectations.” Jane said.

“Everyone will be killed.” Jill said in a shivering tone.

“NO. If you lend us your help, we will make it alive, everyone of us.” Jane said. Jill looked at Jane. Sakura stood up and turned around.

“Jill, I know how you feel, I won’t force you to come and help us but someone has to fill out your space, sit by side and watch us do that.” Sakura said, Jane sighed and stood up.

“Take care of Chris, for a while.” Jane said as she walked towards Sakura, “We will end this for you.” Jane spoke as she started to walk towards the battle arena.

Deicide threw a punch at Dion, Dion dodged it and tried to kick Deicide, however, Harry blocked the kick. Both Harry and Deicide pulled themselves back.

“Your combination is good but you lack co-ordination. Well, this isn’t going to last long enough.” Dion said.

“And don’t know if I am imagining things but he is a bit slower than before.” Harry said.

“Looks like the poison is kicking in.” Deicide said.

Suddenly debris flew towards Dion from the other side. Dion dodged many of it and slashed few to pieces. Suddenly, Harry appeared near him, Harry punched him in the chest, Dion was unable to dodge it, Dion slipped a meter away by the impact. Before he could recover from the attack, Deicide rushed towards him, Dion blocked his kick, Deicide threw a punch at him but Dion caught it with his hand.

“Check Mate.” Dion said with a smirk on his face, Harry appeared suddenly behind Dion but before he could launch an attack, Dion kicked him, Harry went flying. Deicide tried to punch Dion with his other hand, but before his fist could each Dion, Deicide froze in his place.

“The MVP is out.” Dion said as he left Deicide’s hand, “Two attackers down, the only one left are the support units.” Dion said as he walked towards Sakura and Jane.

Jane pull out a dagger from her boots and took a fighting stance. “Formation E.” Jane spoke as she rushed towards Dion, Jane threw the dagger towards Dion but he dodged it easily, however the dagger changed the path, Dion jumped in surprise, as soon as he did that Jane kicked him on his face, Dion took couple of steps back. Dion touched his face, suddenly the dagger came flying towards him, Dion dodged it, suddenly the dagger was replaced by Jane, Jane once again kicked Dion in the face.

Dion spit some blood and smiled, “Feels like, It’s been ages since I have seen my own blood.” Dion said, the knife came flying towards him again, this time Dion waved the knife away, however the knife returned to him, Dion dodged the knife, suddenly Jane appeared instead of the knife, Jane kicked towards Dion but Dion caught her leg.

“There is a time limit between your teleportation, isn’t it?” Dion asked smiling. Harry rushed towards Dion but he dodged him easily, Jane kicked her other leg towards Dion but he caught it as well. “This is it for you, Miss.” Dion said as he smirked. Sakura directed some knives, forks and pointed debris towards Dion but he turned Jane towards it, Sakura stopped the debris. Harry turned once again towards Dion but Dion smacked him in the ground with a kick. “I know it hurts even through the guard put off the though act.” Dion said turning towards Jane. “Take a nap for a while, dear.”
