I woke up to the mid-sun penetrating the windows of the living room. I sat up with a grunt and immediately looked to my side.
My heart stung at the emptiness beside me. I was fully aware that I had her here next to me last night. Matter of fact, I had the most beautiful dreams, thanks to her.
But now I'm awake and she's not by my side. And my chest is slowly beginning to hurt because of it.
She's probably in the shower, I told myself, to keep my heart from aching. Except that was a lie. The house feels empty. And it's because it is. She's really not here.
