Birthday gone. All fun gone. Now again it’s time for boring college lectures. Did I mention I am a business student? I love doing business. Is this symptom of becoming Jeff Bezos’ competitor? Anyway, I have been doing my small business for almost 2 and a half years now. Wonder what business I do that helped buy me an apartment? Though 40 percent on loan and 20 percent on father’s investment. Anyway, I own a café in the town where customers can enjoy, video games, books in peace, delicious pastries, unique taste of coffees; my creation, movies, and many more. Don’t you love the idea? That café was gifted by one of a rich boyfriend when I was 18 and a half maybe. This town consists of lots of hot, rich, and i***t guys. He was almost 25 years when I was 18. He was like a responsible brother who used to sweep troubles made by me. I have huge respect for him though. Nice guy. So the café was too classic for me so I modified it by myself, in my style. And immediately it got popular among teenagers. By the way, I am an i********: influencer too. Also, I do marketing for local businesses. These things give me quite a good amount of money and are more than enough for my living, and paying student and home loan.
So after class, Ashun came to me and we decided to have lunch together. We together headed towards Faerie Hut; my café.
Ashun: I am sorry for the day before. I shouldn’t have lost my temper.
: It’s okay dude. You were looking cool. I loved it.
Ashun: Ha-ha it's okay then. I thought you would not like me for my behavior.
: what’s there not to like. A man in tuxedos, with furious eyes. Wow!
Ashun: Then why won’t you give me a chance?
Anonymous: Because she deserves better.
Huh! Who spoke. I looked back slowing trying to guess who it might be. I am the main character okay. I can’t assume like you guys are doing already. I am unknown about everything.
And there was this heavenly guy leaning on the door of Faerie. Wow, Faris on Faerie. And he looked totally unprofessional. Loose full sleeve gray t-shirt on top and black jeans downside. And those sneakers were giving a perfection. That messed up hair. His greenish eyes were pretty and looked familiar. This guy’s presence gives me a sense of warmth.
Ashun: I read the most popular, youngest businessman in the state is very busy and has no time for his family too.
Farris: Can't-miss the town’s beauty, despite my busyness.
Wow! Is he complimenting me? I am not that good. Don’t make me blush babe. Did I just blush in real too?
Farris: Heard this café is quite an attraction in the town. Couldn’t resist coming here.
Oh! I thought it was me you were talking about. Whatever.
Farris came closer to us. Gave Ashun a devil look then he looked at me. he kept looking and looking for 6 seconds. Yeah, yeah quite a short period but it felt like years at that time. Then he sat with us. Yes, he sat at our table without our permission. Okay! You are hot no need to take permission.
Ashun looked towards me. I blinked my eye as a gesture to ignore. Then, I ordered another cup of coffee for our new guest who freshly joined us.
Farris: Aren’t you going to leave. No errands to run?
Ashun: None of your business.
Farris: But I do have some business with the next person beside me.
Ashun: What business you have with Juney. Didn’t you come to enjoy? Go and enjoy. Don’t disturb us.
Excuse me good guy. Don’t disturb us? What if I say I want to be disturbed? But what business does he have with me?
Farris: the poor kid who lives under the blessing of his rich father doesn’t know how business is done.
KID ha-ha. Who do you think you are huh? Daddy? An old man? You look like you are in your mid-20s too. And Ashun is already 22.
Ashun was already looking like a red tomato. And was about to speak something but.
Farris: Miss. June Grace. Would you like to discuss some business with me?
He found my full name too. I am not surprised. He is intelligent enough to become the youngest businessman then what is the big trouble to find my name and I am famous so no trouble at all. Love to flaunt me. Can’t help.
Ashun was looking towards me in hope that I would say no. But I always wanted to be a business person. So can’t ignore the opportunity dude.
: sure.
Aashun: I have some work to do. Talk to you later Juney.
He seemed disappointed but business comes first. Money is chocolate cake.
Farris: we met again.
: Can’t be a coincidence. Anyway, what business does the famous businessman has to do with me.
Farris: I want to be a partner in your café.
: ha-ha. Are you kidding right?
Farris: you think so?
: you can’t be serious.
Farris: I may not look professional today but. I never joke when it concerns business.
: What, you decide to leave everything and come handle a café?
Farris: I want to be a sleeping partner. My investment, your idea.
: No thanks, Mr. Crile. My café is very small and it doesn’t need a partner to run. I am enough.
Farris: I can read your mind. You want to renovate this café and have got some crazy idea that costs lots of money.
: Farris the youngest businessman for sure. What are your conditions?
Farris: No conditions. Just partnership.
: shut up. You are lying.
He pulls his phone from his pocket and makes a call
Farris: Hello, bring the agreement I told you to prepare yesterday. In 5 minutes.
Huh! Is the grace of nature playing a prank with me? This guy wants a partnership in my small café. Though it's small, this café is my baby. So I want to be very careful. I don’t want to lose my café being blind in the charm of this guy.
Farris: Why you named it Faerie?
: don’t know. Just wanted to
Farris: who gifted you this café.
: you might have already known and still asking.
Yes, I posted in my media when my ex gifted me this cafe. If he hadn’t done this research, then he doesn’t deserve my café.
Farris: Didn’t he came back to take this.
: He got too busy with his business that he might have forgotten.
Farris: don’t you fear he might come back to take it or might have sold this to another guy.
: why would he? This café is in my name. he can’t sell this to anybody.
Farris: do you have all the legal documents that are required?
Damn! I don’t have. s**t! I never asked him for documents. The grace of nature why you are doing this to me. I suddenly feel I have nothing. All the hard work and brain things I did to grow my café. Suddenly I feel I have nothing. What do I do now? How can I get those documents back? I have never heard from him after our breakup. And I don’t have any medium to contact him too.
Farris who just now gave me trauma might have noticed my tensed facial expression.
Farris: I thought you were smart.
: I am not an enemy of him. If I contact him and ask for documents, he will surely give them to me.
Farris: He is dead.
: Whattttttt!! When did that happen?
Farris: it's already been more than one year.
: how?
Farris: news says, it was an accident.
I was shocked. Soon shock changed to sadness. Though we broke up I had huge respect for him. I learned a lot from him. He was too much older than me. so it always felt safe to be by his side.
Farris: you look ugly while crying.
: shut up. Do you have any idea where his grave is?
Farris: on one of his islands. I have no idea.
I have no way to visit his grave too. His mother would never allow me to go to their place. She always hated me.
Farris: more than worrying about his death. You should be concerned about getting your documents back. Because after his death, his family would surely take this back from you.
What do I do now? His mother always hated me. Though his father liked me but who can win over a woman? My café is gone for sure.
Assistant: Sir here is the contract paper?
His assistant keeps the paper in table and Farris slides those paper towards me.
: You still want a partnership with the café which is about to close.
Farris: Yes.
: I also thought you were smart.
We signed the papers and he went leaving me in dilemma. What should I think now? How to get my papers back? Or why would Farris want a partnership with my café?
: I want chocolate cake.
I shouted. Everyone in the café heard and my staff who always delayed every order brought my cake within no minutes.
It's night and I have been thinking about how to get my papers back. Should I break into theirs’ house and steal the papers? What if they already sold it to someone and the new owner is waiting for the café to go extremely popular to come and seize my café because my idea for renovation is damn good and I know it. The only way to find out is by breaking into their house. But which one. They were filthy rich. There is no way. What do I do? Meanwhile, I received a message on my phone. It’s Farris. Yes, we exchanged numbers after signing the contract papers.
Farris: I know you are not dumb enough to think of breaking into theirs’ house.
: Thank you for believing in me.
Farris: What are you going to do?
: Why do you care?
Farris: Because I am yours.
Huh! What message did he send?
Farris: Business partner.
Oh!
: Partner, if you have a way? You can suggest me?
Farris: I am a sleeping partner.
: Then goodnight.
Was that mean? No, not at all. He is irritating.
It was already 3 am and I fell asleep. The next morning, I woke up with another tension. I dreamed of him again. He looked at me again with the most charming eyes while he was driven away by that old man. His eyes were saying as if, he was promising we will meet again. Will my nerdy come to meet me? he might have grown up. How would he look? What if I can’t recognize him? what if he wouldn’t recognize me. What if he comes and recognizes me? Will he like me for who I am? A selfish girl who uses guys for benefits? What if he finds me unattractive? Get off the bed girl. You have lots of trouble served on your plate for breakfast, lunch, and maybe dinner too.
