Chapter4

I was sitting in a king sized bed, Peter told me to wait for him in a large bedroom Five times bigger than the one I had down in iron stone pack.

I had to check out the furniture in the room , and photos of him were hanging on the wall.

The interior of the room is well maintained, clean and very homely.Hardwood flooring , muted floral pattern colors on the wall painted in gray,orange and pale white.

I couldn't help but admire everything about him , even his scent.

What's keeping him ?

I lay down on the bed . I couldn't help but fall asleep.

I didn't know how long I slept for but I was soon jolted out of a nightmare and I opened my eyes to a worried looking Peter.

“ I am sorry I barged into the room , I knocked but you weren't answering I had to come in and check on you “.

“You were fast asleep, I didn't want to wake you up until now “.

“I'm sorry Alpha I waited for you also , I didn’t realize when I fell asleep.”

“It's okay, pretty angel, you can call me Peter.”

I blushed .”I need to go to the bathroom,”I stuttered.

“By the way I searched for clothes you can wear I couldn't find any one of your size , you can wear these shirts ,they are mine I promise they are all new wears. A little big but they will cover you up properly”.

“I don't mind ,thank you peter”, I said and he replied to me with a smile brimming all over his face .

I entered the bathroom and filled the bathtub with water.

I soaked myself in the bathtub for an hour debating on if I should stay or look forward to continuing my journey .My heart has never been at peace with anyone in my life , I felt so relaxed whenever Peter was around me.

I couldn't remember the last time I had a peaceful bath, ever since we lost the Alpha and I wasn't exaggerating when I said it . It had been mind draining and depressing for me.

I was brought back to reality by the knock on the door .”Skye are you okay in there?”

Peter asked . He was sounding so scared,his voice echoed in my ears . I stood up immediately and grabbed the towel and wrapped my body.

“How long have you been inside the bathtub?”

“I don't really know how long I've been in here but the water turned cold”. I replied looking for the clothes that I was supposed to wear.

“Your clothes are on the bed, I'll leave you alone to change.

He is a gentle man.

I slowly opened the bathroom and took a few scans to be sure that no one was in the room .I took a quick glance and I saw the clothes on the bed.

I picked up the new short ,I pulled it up to my hips, luckily it fit perfectly .I'm always grateful for how the Alpha and Luna took care of me ,I ate properly . I put on the t-shirts.

I heard a knock on the door.

Before I could get to reply, Peter's voice echoed,’’can I come in ?”

It's his house he didn't have to knock before coming in,it's his house after all.

“Yes “ I replied now that I think of it, why would Peter refer to me as his? .A fine young man ,is he flirting with me?

I don't think I will have to give in or say how I feel, not after what Ray that wicked monster said to me.

He entered while holding a tray filled with all kinds of food .It smelled so good that my stomach couldn't resist. It was mouthwatering, and I haven't had something to eat in days.

“Why”? I found myself confused.

“Why what ?”

“You have done more than enough for me thank you , I think it's Time I take my leave”.

“Skye”, he called and held my hands.

He handed me the food , watching me eat. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed, I was so nervous that I almost didn't know where my mouth was .I hope he stopped staring at me because I was so hungry, and needed to eat to my satisfaction.

This was taking longer than I expected. I said to myself ,I couldn't even hasten up.

“Finally, you are done”.he says.

“Can I atleast know what happened ?”

“I can't say for now am sorry , please don't force me,” my voice shivered, much to my dissatisfaction.

His lips parted a few times and I could see the storm behind his eyes.

“I can't force you but it's clear there's an issue affecting you , please let me know it is my duty as an Alpha to protect his mate and pack at all times” he settled.

I bit the bottom of my lips, not knowing what else to say.

“Catch some sleep we will talk about this later okay?”

“Yes”. I replied.

When my eyes twitched open, it was still dark out and I couldn't make out anything in the room.

I yawned , stood up and stretched my body.I wish I could lay down all day but I had to make myself useful here.

I stretched my sore muscles and found my way to the bathroom.

Surprisingly, I woke up feeling happy for the first time in a very long time

The bathtub was really comfortable , attracting me to stay there all day.

The double sink had beautiful lights and a granite counter that matched the floor.

I took my bath and I dressed up ,I combed through my hair with my fingers ,I used the scrunchie that laid on the side of the bed to tie my hair.

What next?

I found my way to the kitchen.I wanted to prepare breakfast for Peter at least to show him how grateful I was .

I found fresh bread in the fridge ,I picked the fresh eggs I found in a bowl .

I brought out a small bowl and opened up the egg and emptied it into the bowl and whisked it.

I toasted the bread and made scrambled eggs.

I dished the meal on a plate.

Humming my favorite song (easy by Adele).

“Good morning my pretty angel”. Said Peter.

“Gezzz ……… you scared me” …I shouted while placing my hands on my chest.

“Good morning Alpha”.

“I love it when you call me that,how was your night ?”.

“Good and yours “, I said .

“ It was a peaceful rest , your thoughts filled my mind “.

“I made breakfast for you ,do you want some?”

“Of course I do”.

He was eating his meal smiling.

“I can't be your mate”. I broke the silence.

“What !!!” He groaned..

“ I am just an ordinary person , I don't even have my wolf with me ,I am not fit to be your mate and Luna”. I said while shoving my facedown.

“Skye,is this a rejection”?

“No one is going to accept an ordinary wolf as their Luna”.

I wasn't even done talking he placed his finger on my lips and holding me by my waist , bending his head down towards my face placing his lips towards mine pecking mine.I was frozen in lost in the heat of the moment as his warm mouth pressed against mine.He pulled away for a second and stared right into my eyes.

“Do you still not feel the connection between us?”. He said, looking directly at my face.

“I will stay”. I couldn't help but feel surprised as the words slipped through my mouth.

“Thanks for the meal.” he whispers directly into my ear and walks away.

I sat down on the dining chair trying to recap the incident that just occurred a few minutes ago . I turned to see if anyone saw what just happened ,I couldn't help but blush more and my cheeks turned red immediately.

I stood up to clear the dining table and send the dirty dishes to the kitchen.

I didn't even get the opportunity to lay my hands on the plate.A young girl rushed and collected the plate immediately.

I could tell she is of my age, judging by her appearance she is a maid I guess .she is dark in complexion ,very beautiful and has brown hair ,her eyes are coloured blue and has gap teeth.

“Am so sorry if I may have scared you by chance”. She said looking all innocent and nervous.

“It's okay ,I was going to clear the table myself, it's fine”. I said, trying to calm her down.

“I am Molly,I am your personal maid who was asked to assist you by the chief maid.”

“Why?” I said looking at her.

“It's the instruction given to us by the Alpha.” She answered, bowing her head down.

“Okay can I at least take my breakfast myself? I have prepared it already…” I said Walking towards the kitchen to dish out the meal.

“My lady you don't have to.., I will do that ,you can have your seat at the dining table while I bring it to you." Molly said, grabbing the toasted bread and scrambled egg into a plate.

I blinked thrice, still surprised I took a deep breath feeling very uncomfortable.Feeling very weird ,all my life I have worked so hard and effortlessly in serving the late Alpha and Luna.

“Coffee will do, thank you.” her eyes practically twinkled.

“I got you.”handing the cup of already made coffee looks very creamy to me.

After collecting the cup of coffee ,I decided to retreat to my room .

“I am always here, anytime you want me.”Her voice echoed.

I opened the door and locked it after me ,stood by the window and leaned against the wall as I sipped my coffee.The sky turned into a magnificent light blue color as it shines very bright. I opened the cottons wide as I inhaled the fresh spring coming. I could hear the bird chirping and young pups running around the pack .

An hour and thirty minutes my eyes remained transfixed .I had everything for myself now but looking at the beauty of the pack land; of the magnificent beauty made me feel hallow.I felt very lonely as I gazed across the horizon.

Feeling grateful too ,I sighed finishing my coffee before turning back to my bed to take a quick nap.
