My hand stretched to where the brooch was supposed to be and a smirk on his face became more obvious. He got me, didn’t he?
And the worst thing was that Zion was still in the room, watching that fiasco of mine.
“Where did you get this?” I decided to play dumb and moved in his direction, trying to get the brooch back from him.
“Not so fast,” he lifted it so high that I couldn’t reach it and I exhaled heavily through my nostrils. Then I made a jump for it, only making him chuckle.
“Give it to me!” I gritted through my teeth while jumping again and again, “This very moment! It’s mine!”
“Not until you tell me everything!” he grabbed me by my waist and pulled me closer, “You are the one who added wolfsbane to the drinks at the banquette, aren’t you?!”
