On The Run

Chapter 1

I was running. Running from those vicious creatures that killed my father.

It was raining, so my scent would be easily covered. My knife in my hand as I ran. My breath heavy. I dodged trees without any effort.

I knew that I couldn't outrun my chaser. So, I stopped and turned around. My body prepared for a fight. My potential attacker comes to a stop.

"Hello Andrew." I said, smirking. Yes, Andrew is a werewolf and currently, in his wolf form. He growled in response and attacked. I ducked as he pounced and stabbed him when he was overhead, killing him.

Blood splattered all over my body. I tossed the wolf aside and ran all the way home.

I had to sneak in through the window, take a bath, and dispose off my bloody clothes.

Okay, that's done. Now, onto getting out of here. The Dawnfall pack had found us. Us being my mom, my sister and I. They had been after us ever since dad died of an animal attack. Or that's what everyone thinks. What I know, is a different story.

My dad was killed. Killed by those stupid mutts. How do I know? Well, he was killed in front of me. It was partly my fault. If I hadn't been a coward and ran, he would've maybe still be alive. But no, 13 year old me just had to be a f*****g coward.

Flashback.

"Come on y/n. Lets go to the park. We'll celebrate your birthday today." Dad said.

"But what about mom? And my baby sister Lilianna?" I asked, my eyes shining bright with curiosity. Lilianna was my four year old sister.

Dad bent down to my level and ruffled my hair.

"Well, they both will be fine. Come on now princess, I know you hate the hospital food." Yeah, Mom and Lilianna fell ill. They caught the flu just two days ago. We took them to the hospital cause, when it comes to medicines and stuff like that, dad and I are clueless.

"D-dad. What's going on?" I asked, stuttering. My dad was held in the air by his neck by a gruffly looking guy.

"Oh. So you have a kid as well. You took the one person I loved the most, how about I return the favor?" The creepy man said.

He let go of my father, making him fall to the ground, coughing as the air finally entered his lungs. "Gabriel. Don't hurt her. Don't f*****g touch my daughter." Dad exclaimed, trying to run over to me, but was held back by two men.

I took a step towards my father, but was restrained by another buff guy. I looked at the 'Gabriel' guy in fear as he slowly, yet provokingly took steps towards me.

I stole a quick glance at my father to see that he broke out of the threshold and was running towards us. He stood in front of me.

"I would die before I let you touch my family." My dad growled.

The Gabriel guy just smirked and said, "that can be arranged." He snapped his fingers, and the man holding me let go and punched my dad.

"Dad!" I yelled in horror as he fell to the ground. Three men held him down as Gabriel approached him. I couldn't do anything. I was frozen.

There was a loud snap. Instead of Gabriel, there was a big brown wolf with silver eyes.

Dad looked at me with wide eyes. "Y/n! Run! Don't look back! Just run! Protect your family! I love you." He said.

"Dad!" I sobbed.

"Go!" He shouted, trying to escape. He was stalling. Stalling to give me time to escape.

"I love you." I said, sealing the promise to protect mom and Lilianna, and never give up until I die. He turned to me with tearful eyes and nodded, telling me to go on.

I ran. I listened to my father and ran. But, I turned around in time to see the wolf s***h my father's face. Blood spurted out as it happened. My dad stopped moving. He went limp That's when I knew,

He died.
