“Papa, Papa” Catherine O’Connell shouted waving her hands up at her father who was looking at her through his bedroom window, sitting on her pony, she shouted again “Papa!” “Yes, sweetheart?” Russell shouted back, smiling down at his daughter “What can I do for you?” She smiled back at him, pointing to the direction of sunset “Its going to be dark soon, lets go and gather the cattle!” “Christopher will see to that!” he said fondly at her “You can go with him if you want.” “No!” Cathie protested “I won’t go without you, papa. It’s more fun when you are there!” Russell laughed, she looked so much like her mother, and she was beautiful. Her hair flying behind her, to him she looked like an angel. “Okay, honey,” he finally said trying to distract himself from his thought “I am ready in five minutes.” After securing the cattle, Christopher excused himself. “I will be going home now, Russell. See you tomorrow.” “Make sure you are early.” Russell said dismissing him. ”Father, let’s go to that far end of the ranch.” Cathie said pointing to the hills and mountain she use to sight and was curious about “I’ve never been there.” They raced their horses toward the mountains, when they reached the ridge that separated the ranch into two, Russell slowed his horse. “What is it father, Aren’t we going anymore?” “Of’course we are.” Russell said “Why is this ridge here?” Cathie asked curiously “It seem to divide the ranch. Isn’t all the land ours?” Russell shook his head and looked at his daughter “No, from this ridge the land belongs to the Gallagher’s.” “Hmmm!” she hummed thoughtfully. “Your grandfather gave Cole Gallagher half the land to pay his debt to him.” “Half?” Cathie’s eyes widen “How much is the money, it must be much!” “I never asked, but I know the money could only buy three acres of land then
