CHAPTER FOUR

Years flew by, although Cathie was in school she came home at every opportunity, she was involve in the ranch activities as much as she could without affecting her studies. Strange enough, she had good grade she don’t know how herself but luck seems to be on her side ,she stayed at school year after year, making friends, studying and partying but she never miss an opportunity of going home .

The cattle grew considering over the years, she even advise her father to deals with sheep too. There was no debt whatsoever and she lived lavishly in school. Her friends called her a spoilt brat. School was not so bad after all, in fact, it was fun but no matter what she always look forward to going home.

They were days she loved so much at school and they were days she so much hated. One of that days was today, she thought as jogged to class, God she hated 7: 00 am lectures, she grunted inwardly as she sited. The professor through the window, she was late again, she checked her wrist watch, ten minutes late, she shrugged as she reached the door of the class taking a few deep breath, she lifted her chin up and entered the class.

‘’You like been late, don’t you? ‘’Mary said as she took a huge bite on her snack.

Cathie looked at her friend across the cafeterias table, she’s so beautiful she thought, even when she eats like that, Cathie knew she was beautiful too but she couldn’t compare herself with Mary. ‘’I can’t help myself.’’ She finally muttered.

‘’Maybe she just like attention.’’ Suzan said Cathie narrowed her eyes at Suzan Aka Mary’s friend, she don’t know why she dislike the girl so much and she had been getting on her nerves for sometime now. Maybe she should just put her in her place or just ignore her as she use to for the past three years now. She shrugged.

‘’We are graduating in two months,’’ Suzan said ‘’My fiancée’s father offered me a job at his company, since I will be joining the family soon.’’

‘’You’re so lucky,’’ Mary said ‘’I will have to job hunt ‘’she looked at Cathie ‘’Do you have any plan?’’

‘’Yes’’ Cathie said excited’’ I will work on my father ranch.’’

‘’Gross’’ Suzan said disgusted,’’ I can imagine myself on a ranch somewhere with horses, cattle’s and sheep’s.’’

‘’You shouldn’t because you will never be there,’’ Cathie said, smiling at her ‘’you are too fine a lady to be there ‘’she sipped from her drink.

Suzan fanned herself with her hand as if embarrassed, she took a bit from her snack and cleared her throat.

Mary looked from Suzan to Cathie then said ‘’We have only two months left, you should at least be friend for once.’’

‘’I won’t miss her,’’ Cathie whispered.

Two months came in a flash, Cathie flew back home, Sarah picked her at the airport, she hugged her hard ‘’Am through Sarah! ‘’she said loudly, giving her a noisy kiss on her check. ‘’Where’s papa?’’ she asked looking around, ‘’it rained yesterday night, some fences needs repairs.’’ Sarah said pulling Cathie behind her.

He should get more ranch help.’’ Cathie said allowing Sarah to pull her.

‘’We already pasted the ad,’’ Sarah said under her breath.

When they got home, her father threw a small party for her, people from the neighboring ranch came, Christopher came with his wife. The people that came weren’t much but she loved it, she loved the fact that she was home, in fact she loved everything right now.
