Chapter 8 Continued ...

When she leaves I am left with Onyx and Scott, who both look relieved, angry, and hurt all at once.

“What is wrong you two?” I ask walking over to them and give Onyx a hug and kiss first. When I pull away, I pull Scott over to me, he grabs me roughly and lifts me around him as he smashes his lips to mine, only seconds later to pull away and I see tears trailing down his cheeks. I cup his face and wipe the tears, I don’t care that my heartbeat is still incomplete, I will not let them hurt. I will fix this and that means killing my Uncle and Alpha Nickolas.

“Nim, we almost lost you! Please, next time don’t argue, just let me go with you! Yes, having a winged bodyguard is good at times, but they can’t turn on a dime baby girl! Please, just say yes and let me come with you no matter what!” He says leaving soft kisses down my jaw and neck. Onyx has moved closer, so that my back is resting against his chest, his one hand has gone under my right thigh and squeezes, the other has braided into my hair. He starts kissing and nipping my neck on the right, while Scott has bitten down on my collar bone and sucking it. My hands are running through both of their hair, and I am panting softly. “He can’t Queen Rachel, he’s knotted within his mate.” Onyx says trying to calm his laughter because Scott looks like he’s going to punch him in the face.

“Holy Hades! You better be giving me grand-babies!” Tania says with a huge smile that reaches her eyes and I just want to hide.

“Umm... Huh??” Is all Kenneth can get out.

“Two years ago, when I went to see the elders about the chanting outside my window, they found I had a block put on me, that's why I hadn’t found my mate when I turned 18, four years ago. When they removed it, I felt it instantly and my heartbeat was complete, it was Nimue. Scott also found out at the same time, he told me his heart felt different. Like it was humming. I asked who he was with when it happened, and he said Nimue too.” Onyx says staying wrapped around me and I have started to fall asleep. Until I feel Scott’s knotting release, but I don’t move, I am comfortable, and I can hear my completed heartbeat now.  It’s soft and smooth not like my usual heartbeat but I am happy knowing I have found my mates, I drift off.

“Ok but Nimue, only just got the spell that was placed on her removed 3 days ago, and she doesn’t turn 18 until October 31. This may be a little soon for you two to claim and mate her, you know that right?” Kenneth says with hesitation, noticing that I have fallen asleep.

“I thought so too, but I sent a letter to the Council of the Gods yesterday, I told them what happened with the attack and asked if it would be too soon, since her birthday is actually Friday next week. I also told them about the spell removal. Selene and Gaia, both coming to me immediately, told me yes we needed to do it now, otherwise what the Sisters of Fate have put in our Paths will never happen and everything will end. Nimue will die and the clan will be destroyed.” Onyx said.

“What did this Gaia and Selene look like Onyx? With all the sorcery being used I want to make sure you have not done something that was meant to wait.” Tania says walking over to Onyx’s side of the bed and goes to start the memory viewing, when instead he just sends her what he saw.

“Wow, Selene looks rough, I guess it’s time for someone new to take her place. Gaia looks great for her age! I miss seeing my big sister every day.” Tania says, causing everyone in the room to look at her questioningly. “Nimue, Merlin and the Elders are the only ones alive today that know this, but I am the earth-bound Goddess Hecate. I have been here for a while. I came just after the great war close to 300 years ago, as did many of us to help our children learn to live in peace. Gaia, Hephaestus, and Hades also came along with a few others. Myself and I think Ares are the last of us that are still here.” Tania says only for me to wake up and correct her.

“Not anymore, Dionysus is here also, he’s that super cute little boy with Merlin at the clan right now.” I say and then continue … “Can you please pass me Scott’s shirt so I can go shower now that I have had a cat nap. Please and thank you.” Rachel hands me her brother’s shirt. I put it on and climb out of bed, grabbing my bag and heading into the shower. It's a quick and slightly painful shower. The one bullet hole has a purple blister formed at the entry point. I already know it needs to be drained, since Bronx wants to play doctor he can do that while spilling all his little secrets that have been discovered.

     I didn’t realize until I started to dress, that I am not in the Guest house anymore, but my actual room that I have here in the Tiger Lily Pride since I was 3 years old. My parents and Kenneth’s were allies and best friends. All of us kids had our own rooms in each of the Alpha’s houses. Kenneth may want to leave it this way for his daughter one day, it just needs a little updating and he just has to take down the Backstreet Boys and N’Sync Posters. Oh, who knows, maybe they will make a comeback!

     I step out of the bathroom to find everyone still in my room. Onyx and Scott are dressed and have this sheepish look. I am guessing from Tania smirk, she said something making them a bit uncomfortable, it was probably something about grandbabies again. As I walk by her to put my bag on the bed, she quickly blocks my way with her hand and places it on my lower stomach. With my eyes as big as saucers, she smiles at me and it grows even bigger by the second. I can only imagine what she's seeing or what is going through her head.

             I clear my throat and ask, “So did you tie up the lying royals? Bronx is probably enjoying it more than it being a form of punishment or torture.” Kenneth just shakes his head and laughs; Rachel has this look on her face that says she has some kinky ideas in store for Kenneth.

Tania snickers and then says, “Did the triplets tell you exactly how many mates you have?”

“No, but my heartbeat is a low hum instead of an incomplete rhythm. Why?” I say with a raised eyebrow.

“Because you're one shy, at the moment. You have three mates and that little thing going on in your womb won’t finish until the third is claimed and mated. You dear child will give birth in 3’s every time you have pups.” Tania replies and my jaw hits the floor.

 “Holy f**k this just got even better! Hell yes, love it!” Scott says and high five Onyx.

 “That means you are going to be one busy momma Nimue! Both in bed and raising our pups!” Onyx says with the biggest smile I have ever seen on that boy and we are all shocked at this side of him. None of us have ever heard Onyx talk like this, it’s definitely something new. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t have to hide anymore.

“Gives a new meaning to the term “barefoot and pregnant.” Rachel says as she gives me a look of both pity and jealousy. I smirk at her and mouth, “I will give you ideas later” and she gives me the biggest grin and nods pleasingly.
