Scarlett stormed toward the front of the shop. As she reached for the handle, the unmistakable c***k of gunfire splintered the air. She twisted and crouched down beside the exit, g*n drawn.
Outside, Jules screamed. Scarlett's eyes went wide with panic and she reached for the door but stopped herself. Bursting into an unknown situation could be worse than waiting.
Scarlett inched the door open just enough to see the back of a tall man in a black suit walking away. His g*n was drawn and he kept his gaze locked straight ahead. Barnes's new partner?
