Chapter 30Duty to service and duty to family often come in conflict. The choice between the two is an impossible one. * * * Captain Ganesh sat in her tiny office in the mobile command center and sipped her Chai Latte. As the spiced warmth hit her tongue, she winced. One of the reasons she hated coming to the States was their crappy idea of Chai, too sweet and way too much cinnamon. Can't even taste the damn tea. Still, it was the closest thing to home whenever she was on this side of the planet. She set the steaming cup down and scrolled through a list of EarthCom messages on her commpad. More than a dozen new communiques in the last hour. Most of them were garbage memos. One of them caught her attention, though, and she tapped at the screen to open it.
