Ramya’s Story

1413 Words
Ramya lay on her bed thinking about her life. The past few months had been a rollercoaster ride for her. She had been too busy to even notice what was happening. It was all surreal. (Flashback) Ramya walked into school gloomily. She had been f*******n by her family, especially her mother, to talk or communicate with her friends, Soukhya, Pravallika and Anusha. She had also been warned not to get into trouble again. She had been told clearly by her mother that what had happened with her had been entirely her fault. “Why did you protest? If you had kept quiet, they would have left you and you wouldn’t have been shamed in front of every one!” “But mom, I didn’t do anything!” “Shut up! If had done nothing, why would you be made to show everything in the assembly? Huh? How dare you go to the Principal and make him angry?” “Mom, I didn’t it was Souki who dragged me!” “I told you a thousand times already not to mingle with that – that wretched girl! She is to rowdyish. Doesn’t behave like a girl at all! And you go hang around with that girl and get into trouble.” “But, maa….” “Do you know how much the Principal scolded you on the phone? My ears swelled like toddy palm leaves listening to his dandakam(tirade)! I couldn’t speak at all!” Ramya couldn’t help chuckle at the thought of her mom being tongue-tied making her mother even angrier. She had ended up “blessing” Ramya for the next half an hour and then stuffing her with three days food! That was one problem Ramya faced with her mom. Whenever she got angry, her mom would stuff the person she was angry with, with lots of food. So everyone in the house made sure she never got angry! That had sadly ended her friendship with the only girls who would be with her and with whom she could share things with. She had gone to the school thinking of all the reasons she could come up with for breaking their friendship. But her mind became more and more blank as she neared the school. She was very tense as she walked into the class. She was puzzled that the trio was absent. When she had not seen them in the school bus, she had assumed, that they were walking to school or maybe coming by auto. But obviously she was wrong. She scanned the room for any trace of her friends, but she managed to find the one person she didn’t want to see. Aman Amanchi. “Looking for me?” he sneered. Ramya bent her head low to hide her fear. “So you decided to chuck your friends, huh?” he said, noticing she was alone. “No, bodyguards to enrage me. Good, good. So maybe, we shall have some fun this time, after all.” His friends sniggered at the word fun. Ramya just stood there shivering. She didn’t want any more trouble. “Don’t worry. We are not in the mood today, but we won’t hesitate if you make us angry. Am I clear?” Ramya nodded her head. “Speak up b***h. Your tongue got stuck or what?” “Y-y-yes.” “Yes what?” “Y-yes, i-i-I u-u-understand!” “Good. Because I am always ready to see you n***d anytime I want and my friends will also love the show! Now give me a kiss and go to your place.” “P-p-please!” Ramya’s eyes went wide in shock. How could she do that? Kiss him in front of the whole class?” “So, you seem to detest clothes! No problem. We can help you with that! Sekhar can you help our exhibitionist here to exhibit?” “Sure. Love to!” Sekhar said grinning. As he laid his hand on Ramya’s shirt, she tried to back off. “Where are you going girl? Show us !” “P-p-p-lease leave me. I will do whatever you say but don’t remove my dress.!” She pleaded. “Then where is my kiss?” Ramya felt Sekhar’s hand drop as she moved forward, her face burning. She got up on her toes and pecked Aman on the cheek. Or so she thought. She quickly discovered that she was unable to move away locked as she was in Aman’s arms. He had somehow managed to bring his lips in place of his cheek turning it into a deep kiss. She was out of breath by the time she came to senses. She looked up to realize she was looking at thin air and not Aman as she thought. Where was he? Where had he gone? Was this a dream? She looked around in confusion and found herself staring at the Math Teacher, Mr. Sadanand. “Well, if you are done with your survey of the class, shall we start learning something meaningful?” “S-s-s-sorry sir.” Ramya was mortified to find herself alone. she quietly went to her seat embarrassed that she had been caught fooling around. Maybe the kiss was a dream after all. “Submit your homework!” Why did he always start with homework? Why couldn’t he just write whatever nonsense he wanted to on the blackboard and go? She couldn’t make head or tail of it anyway. This was just an excuse to punish and scold girls that’s all. She ground her teeth as she went to submit her homework. Surprisingly people seemed to be nice to her today? Had they all gone saints? What was all this goody-goody behavior today? Perhaps they were shocked that Soukhya was absent. Anyway this was just the first period out of the 9 periods she had to face in the day apart from the morning, and afternoon breaks and lunch. The day went far quieter than she had expected making her even more nervous that a storm was brewing. She was very nervous and tense when she came out and absent mindedly started walking home – alone – which was very dangerous considering the fact that she could be prone to any kind of a***e short of a r**e. When the police made it a point to shoot child rapists in an area they couldn’t speak of – men started being more cautious towards underage girls. They were too terrified that the police would treat them “in their own style” that the police was famous for. No one wanted to risk it. But she could be groped, fondled, kissed or stripped; even paraded n***d. So she was stretching her luck too far when she walked instead of boarding the school bus that could take her relatively safe and secure to her house. She was so deep in her own thoughts and reasons why or how she would be shamed that she did not notice the Royal Shakteya Trust Vehicle screech to a stop, nudging her gently, making her fall. It was the shock of being hit and the overactive brain of her’s that made her fall down and lose consciousness than the impact from the vehicle. Nevertheless, it made the driver and the man inside it very anxious and they rushed her to the nearest Royal Shakteya Trust Hospital. They were relieved when the doctors confirmed that she was unhurt and was just mildly shocked. When Ramya opened her eyes, she was sure she was in heaven. So she started addressing the doctors as gods and goddesses and the nurses as angels; much to the amusement of the medical staff. They had a hard time convincing her that she was still alive and not dead. When their efforts failed, they told her in frustration that she was incarnated into a body that looked similar to her own with all the memories of her previous life intact. To lay it on the thick, they even told her she was born to be a supremely talented actress. Never in their dreams had they imagined her to take it so seriously, that she dedicated her efforts into becoming an actress; so much that she even shocked everyone with her brilliant acting skills in the school anniversary. This was what had shocked Pravallika and Anusha - the total transformation from a shy, nervous, timid girl to a bold, confident and inspiring one.
