The tension in the air was palpable as Emily stood frozen, her eyes fixed on Harry's raised hand. The silence between them was deafening, and for a moment, it seemed like itself had stopped. The flickering lights in the room cast eerie shadows on the walls, as if echoing the turmoil that had erupted in the marriage.

Emily heart pounded in her chest waiting for Harry’s next move. Would he strike her, or would he pull back? Harry’s face was twisted in anger, his eyes blazing with a fire that made Emily skin crawl.

As his hand was handing in the air, the phone rang. He walked close to the phone and picked it up which was an unknown caller. He picked the call and was to tell him that the boss was coming and he had not arranged the document for tomorrow's presentation. He told Emily to arrange the document for him.

Emily hands moved swiftly as she organized harry’s papers her mind numb to her familiar ache in her chest.

Despite the emotional bruises, she found solace in supporting him, even if he didn’t appreciate her efforts.

As she worked, her husband, Harry, stormed into the room, his face twisted in frustration. “I need these document sorted by tomorrow so be fast,” he barked, dropping a stack of papers on the table.

Emily’s heart sank, but she nodded quietly her hands sank, but she nodded quietly her hands never stopping. She knew better than to argue or show her hurt instead, she focused on helping him, pouring her anger into work.

When she was done Emily smiled faintly, her eyes welling up with tears. She knew she deserved better, but her love for him kept her tied to this toxic cycle.

The next day harry arrived at work a little bit late and the meeting has already started his friend tom asked him why he came late his reply was because of Emily, Tom paused and looked at harry your wife? He said yes Tom didn’t say much because he was busy arranging the document for the presentation. By the time the meeting was over the CEO sent her manger to call on harry. She told him his presentation was good and why he came late as usual he lied that his mom was sick, marking his wife identity. She felt pity for him and asked how her health was he shook his head saying much better. From the looks on his face he left lost due to the CEO’s beauty, she has sparkling and piercing eyes that capture attention, She has a silky hair that frames, Her skin is smooth that invites touch and a captivating smile . He left the room with a smile on his face. Tom was surprised at what should have brought the smile. Harry told him what happened and Tom advised him to stay out because he is a married man he said she won’t find out.

Emily arrived to work with her face looking piled as usual her friend ask her what the issue was but her replies was “always am fine didn’t sleep well”. She wore her face mark and worked inside the room as always with a smile on her face which made all her co workers kind to her and no matter how the case is she is always calm, A patiant was already waiting for her she was not focused because of the problem she faced at home. When the day was almost over she packed her stuff ready to go home but she set on the visitors seat waiting for the right time to go home her friend Aurora noticed the big change in Emily but was waiting for the right time to asked but Emily didn’t come but her which made Aurora more worried and choose that day as the best day to asked.

She went to where Emily was sitting and hold her hands asking her what the issues was.

She told her everything, as she spoke, her voice cracked, and tears streamed down her face,” she whispered her words barely audible. Her Aurora’s arms wrapped around her, offering comfort as she sobbed.

Her Aurora listened attentively, offering words of condolence and support.

As they walked home, lost in conversation, they stumbled upon a charming café. Her friend suggested they should grab a coffee, their eyes met his. Tall dark-haired, and handsome, he caught her attention

He smiled, and she felt a flutter in her chest. They struck up a conversation, exchanging stories and laughing. His kind eyes and genuine interest drew her in. But she felt the guilt in her heart that she is married.

Their conversation flowed effortlessly, covering everything from books to music. She found herself laughing and feeling at ease in his presence.

As the parted ways, Luke asked for her number, and she agreed, feeling spark of attraction. Her friend raised an eyebrow as they walked away, sensing the chemistry between them.

“Looks like you caught someone’s eye’s, Aurora whispered, grinning.

She blushed, feeling mix of excitement and uncertainly. “ You know am married” she said Aurora looked at her and laughed “ You call that beast a husband, if you take my advice he needs to be jailed for what he did”. “So could this encounter blossom into something more?” Emily said.

After years of abused and suffering, she found the strength to leave. She packed her bags, and walked out the door, determined to start anew. She listened to Aurora’s advice and started a new life with Luke which was ready to take all responsibility for her and loved her non-stop.

As time passed, she healed from the wounds of her past. She learned to prioritize self-care, set boundaries, cultivate healthy relationship with Luke and build a healthy family. He treated her with kindness, respect , and empathy, helping her heal from her past wounds.

Harry’s abusive behavior followed him to work. He faced disciplinary action, lost his job, and damaged his professional reputation.
