‘Where are they?’ I say out loud. Rose looks at me, wondering why I’m so concerned about the whereabouts of Logan and Mason. ‘We’re meant to stick together,’ I remind her.
‘They’re not going to get lost or something. Besides, the guy just broke his arm. So he likely needs a minute,’ Rose is right.
‘What do you think we’re walking into anyway?’ I ask. I’m not looking for a perfect answer, but a guess would be welcome. Something to dull my expectations.
‘Well, after whatever the hell that was, I doubt it’s going to be easy.’ Not what I wanted to hear.
‘Yeah, you’re probably right.’
We’d made it through the challenges so far, and while we hadn’t come out completely unscathed, we were not totally hopeless. We’ve come so far. Surely we can finish this final challenge before walki
