I was a bit surprised. For many reasons, really. I have been granted entry into the city, for starters, which was touch and go for a moment. More importantly, however, the support of the entire pack to lay down their lives for mine was utterly unexpected. How would I ever be able to thank them for what they did? Did they know that he might take us up on the offer and allow us to all perish? I don’t think I’ll ever know the answer, and I’d instead just thank them anyways.
We’re entering the gates and noticing that we’re in another cave. We’re a little tired of those. We aren’t entirely sure what we’re about to see, but we’re just excited to know that this journey wasn’t all for nothing.
