I was walking away from my father’s cabin with a spring in my step. I had finally won. It wasn’t some major win, but standing up to my father isn’t an easy task. I took the victory and ran with it, but I realized I needed to find Mason. I needed to tell him how it went, but I also needed to see how he was doing. It was easy to forget everything that had happened in the last few days while standing in that room facing my father. He was intimidating, and that wasn’t debatable. It was a fact. I moved through the village and went to his home, slowly opening the door and entering. ‘Mason?’ Silence, nothing but silence. I wondered around to see if he’d been home recently, but nothing showed that as being likely. I made my way to the exit and closed the door behind me.  I wandered around search
