Amanda’s brows knitted and she gnawed her bottom lip. “I heard Logan got her pregnant,” she whispered. “Please don’t tell me it was Chris.”
“No.” Hana swallowed. “It wasn’t. And the child didn’t survive.”
“Why is she back?” Amanda’s voice sounded strained. “There’s no hope for me and Chris if she’s hanging about.”
“If it’s any comfort, she wants something from Logan. I think Chris is safe from her.” Hana set her mug on the table.
Amanda shook her head. “Sorry, I don’t know why I’m splurging my guts to you; we only just met.”
Hana wrinkled her nose. “It’s lonely here if you don’t have a good friend. I know what it’s like.”
Amanda smiled. “Yeah well, everyone on site knows my business and I’m sure they still gossip about Chris and Caroline. It makes it hard to move forward.”
