She whirled around, red hair and white dress twirling with the movement. A hush surrounded the building as she descended the ramp. Her legs trembled beneath her and Hana fought to maintain her composure. She paused to speak to Kane as he wiped blood and snot onto his bare arm. “My husband told you to leave,” she hissed. “So, leave!” The male crowd parted to admit her, closing behind her like the wake of a ship. Hana kept walking without looking back. Footsteps followed and Tama matched her stride. “Wait up!” he hissed. “You forgot your kid.” “b***h!” Kane’s insult drifted on the breeze and Tama halted. Hana snatched at his sleeve as he turned. Phoenix gurgled in his arms. “She hit me with her handbag once,” the teenager shouted. He waggled his dark eyebrows. “You wanna do what she says.
