Chapter 18 Logan carried the car seat up the porch steps and Hana glanced back with a frown. His spine appeared rigid and his body language hostile. She shook her head, picking her way past broken garden furniture and lifting her hand to knock on the door. Paint peeled and flakes danced to the floor of the deck as she tapped gently. The light bulb above the front door remained dark. “Hana!” Logan’s sharp rebuke made her jump. She glanced back in irritation and saw him jerk his head towards a huge hole to her left. Spiteful jagged edges made it look as though someone once fell through.
