[Irene’s POV]
Ryu, Virgil, and I stood facing each other.
They had entrusted their powers to me, their divinity to me. Now it was my responsibility to take care of this problem for once and for all. All of us had suffered more than we deserved.
Fenrir, Gare, Virgil, Ryu, Zane, my father, the mortal world and even the moon goddess. All of us have suffered enough. It was time for the world to regain its stability. All of us had already paid the price.
“Irene,” Virgil said. “I will remember you, right? Even after all this, we won’t forget each other, right?”
I smiled with bleary eyes.
“Yes,” I lied. “We will.”
Ryu peered at me as if he knew I was lying, “don’t you think it’s better to say goodbye than lying…” his voice quavered.
