Eva's POV
"The path is clear!" I looked at the living area from the stairs, where no Mark could be seen, which relieved me. I immediately walked down the stairs and moved fast to open the main door with my hand before I could push the doorknob. Mark's strong voice comes from behind.
"Eva! Where are you going?" I felt a jolt of nervousness as my hand was tightly pressed against the doorknob.
"Eva…" I could hear him calling me again, and this time, I finally inhaled a long breath to turn to meet his intense gaze and smiled normally.
