Chapter 6 : An invitation from neighbours

While coming back I saw our front neighbours in our home. They are here to invite our family in their son's wedding which is after a week on 15 April. I said Hello....to Nancy aunty and she smile in return. Her daughter is also here and she is a very cute, chubby and naughty kid. My mother is serving tea and snacks to them and I am playing with her daughter. It's Sunday so dad is downstairs with grandma. Aunt Nancy also know about my father and cunning grandma but she don't talk much because of grandma as she don't like if my mother talk to neighbours or visit anyone's house but but but the same thing do not apply on my grandma's daughter so whenever she visit us she meet most of her friends whether they are in neighborhood or outside the area.

¶¶ I just don't know that why the hell people have so many differences in their minds. Why can't they understand that it is not about blood relations only, it's not about mother - daughter and it is also not about son and daughter. The fact is always about good and bad, right and wrong. It was always about our good and bad deeds " Called our Karmas". Why people just can't understand that God has never made the differences for human beings, he made everyone equal and gives equal rights to everyone wether he is a man or women, daughter or daughter in law, husband or wife.....

Whenever we ask God something, we always keep in mind our good things which we do and in exchange we expect God will fulfill our wishes but we forgot that God is watching us, he listens to everyone and observe everything what we are doing and what not, he is the one who knows everything, but still we do wrong deeds in life to our family members and too outsiders just for the sake of our profits. It is a very simple thing that if we think about other's then God will think about us, if we keep others happy then God is there to take care of our happiness, if we feel others pain and problems then God is also here for us.

...... Such big things right !!!! If people try to start to understand each other then may be there will be no issues will occur in anyone's family and anyone's life.

Kia : Ann, Annnnnn.....

Me : yes sista !!

Kia : what are you doing, kiddoo ???

Me : am not a kiddoo anyone Sisi...

Kia : Alright!! but for me you will always the little one and by the way what are you doing in balcony ???

Me : nothing sista.... just thinking about life, what will I do now because my exams are over and there are two months left for result.

Kia : okay ! then why don't you join any computer course for the short term, this will help you in future too.

Me : Do you think that dad will allow me for this ??? When you know that after your and Sheena's marriage he will fix me and shivi with someone.

Kia : Then what will you do, when your result will come and how will you convenience papa and grandma for your admission in St.Louis ACA which is in Dehradun not even in our city.

Me : Sisttttttaaa....... my result will come in June and I think dad and grandma will fix your and Sheena's marriage before after August then I'll do one thing, I'll robe all your jewellery and will run away from this home.....hihihihihiiiiiiii

Kia : ha! ha! ha! I'll not mind dear and I wish that I myself can do something for you but you know nothing is in my hands and I know you well that you are not from them who run away from problems, you must find any way to get out of this cage and start your new journey of your career.

Me : yeah, I know. By the way is Nancy aunty gone ??

Kia : yes she has....and now let's go inside.

Me : okay!!!

When we enter inside, we saw dad is again fighting with mamma. I knock on the door and ask what happen ?? Mamma said nothing you two go outside but I didn't move. I asked dad why you are fighting with mom, first he ignore me then I stand in between him and mamma and sista Kia is looking at me with shocking eyes....and dad's face is turning full red in anger. Today I'll not allow you to shout on mamma or hit her. Don't you get tired everyday making this home as hell and what is the matter with you why are you after so badly mamma and us when none of us haven't done anything wrong with you and grandma.....I raise my voice high my tounge is trembling a bit but I am standing stern in front of him. I can sense mamma is trying to push me out between them and sista Kia, yatin, Sheena and shivi all are gathered together near the door and watching us. I can also sense dad's anger for me because no one has stopped him like this before it. He is trying to slap me but mamma pull me behind her and my siblings also came inside the room to stand with us. We all are now standing in front of him with mom and he is looking at all of us and leave the room making everything silent.

Mamma : why you come in between us, Annie and what if your dad hit you at that time ????

Yatin : Mamma I don't talk much to dad and grandma but I also don't like the way they treat you everyday and you never let us come between in you and them.

Kia : Mamma what Ann did today i think we all need to did that a lone time ago. It was only us who let them push us all in sorrows everytime. What Ann did is right, she is the youngest one in all of us just fifteen but what she has done today is absolutely correct. If we could do this earlier then perhaps father don't dare to hit you and t*****e you mentally and physically.

Me : I was watching everyone and we all hugged each other in group.

When we come out of room then dad wasn't here and am sure he must go out for drink. I can see mamma is still tensed and so we all.

Mommy : Yes Sheena...

Sheena : Tonight you take rest and we all will cook dinner.

Mommy : Oh! alright but there is no need because you know your grandmother and dad will eat food only cooked by me.

Me : Mom please....they bother you because you let them bother yourself. Teacher Shreya always said : the strength is always inside us we don't need to find it outside or in somebody. If we help ourselves then God will help us too. So please let us cook the dinner for tonight.

........I make a puppy face in front of her and watching me she smile a bit and come out of the kitchen. She hugged me and kiss me on cheeks and said :- I am really very proud on you that you are my daughter. Somewhere inside I was also happy seeing her but also thinking about the consequences of whatever happened today.

It's 9pm and dinner is ready. I never cook anything before so I don't know how to cook or do anything in kitchen because I don't have very good relationship with kitchen except knowing cook the boiled noodles only....hahahaha!!!!!!

Sista Kia is serving food on table and grandma is downstairs. Mommy send me to call grandma upstairs but she refused to eat and also said that father will not eat with us tonight. So I do not say anything and come upstairs quietly. Mom asked what happen, where is your grandmother.....I reply with a small smile that they are not coming upstairs to eat. Then mom scold me a bit on this then why you smile Ann.....

I said because there is nothing to be sad in it. It was not our fault whatever happened in evening then why can't I smile. You slept a lot without having food many nights, what if they don't eat tonight and am sure nothing will happen to them. Mamma stay quiet and we all eating our dinner silently. After having dinner sista Kia and shivi went in kitchen to clean it and wash the dishes and me, yatin and Sheena went in our room to watch some movies. I asked yatin to play any horror movie but Sheena refused on it and said to play any commedy movie. We are watching a commedy show sista Kia and shivi also join us now. It's been 11pm and we don't hear dad yet. So mommy asked yatin to go downstairs and have a look on dad and grandma. Yatin went downstairs and I am checking from upside, he is outside grandma's room and peeking from outside. Grandma is sleeping but dad isn't come home yet. So we both come back in room and yatin told mamma about it. I can see the tension on mum's face but we are trying to cheer her up.

....... It's past 12am and we all are feeling sleepy so mum wish us all good night and going to her room. We also wish her goodnight and now we are also going to sleep because it was really a hectic day.
