Epilogue Two years later Abby stood on the pier with the other Navy wives and kids. She felt the familiar butterflies churn in her stomach as she held tight to Rachel, now a rambunctious two-year-old with jet-black hair and dark eyes, like her father. There were times when she’d catch a glance at Rachel when she was running or reaching for something, just from the side, and she thought of Seyed.
