It had been three weeks since I watched the heathen sail away with Feya. Three weeks I have searched for any information on where that boat was headed. Three weeks of worrying for her. I would find her. I would come home to Mercia with my bride, and the head of the beast who took her. I had returned quickly to the city and found Hywel. I explained to him the events that led to his sister being taken on the longboat. He had been surprised to learn she still lived. Even more surprised when I explained that I loved her and planned to rescue her. I did not want to marry her at first. My father had brow beat me as was his way. She was a duty I must perform. I was prepared to wed her, bed her, and never acknowledge her again. But then as I was kneeling at the altar, annoyed with the delay.
