See You Again

CHAPTER 1. Breakfast

"Why did you do this to me Madi? out of all the place, why move to another country? who's gonna watch Friends with me now? or get my order at Bruberry's? Monica whines dramatically, "You'll be fine Monica you're a big girl, I'm sorry that I have to be so far away but you know I have to. If you are so worried about being alone, maybe it's time for you to get a boyfriend" I teased her and smile as she huffs loudly and make face, "and I told you I'm never falling in love again, not now not ever! she said with so much power in her voice. I'm not blaming her if she now hated the idea of love, I know she's still hurting after finding out a year ago that her boyfriend of 5 years have been cheating on her all this time. We didn't expect that He would do something like that because of how sweet and kind He is, he really fooled all of us. On the other hand I still believe that in the right time, she will meet the right man who will cherish her forever. "You'll never know!" still teasing her "Whatever you say Mads, I think I hear mom calling me", "yeah she is, I love you!" "love you!" she said back. Her mom didn't really call her she's just annoyed and refused to talk now.

It's eight in the morning and I've been walking in our neighborhood for nearly an hour with Gab, I almost forgot He's with me while talking to Monica. He's our neighbor's dog and instantly fell in love with him ever since he crossed our lawn the next day after we moved here in California two weeks ago. While thinking about the past week since we came here, I came to realize I'm going to love it here I know it.

A minute later we have reached home to see Mrs. Reed standing at the door, "You're back, how was your walk? " she ask as Gab walk pass her "It was good Mrs. Reed, I think Gab enjoyed it too." "He does, actually it's his favorite activity and I told you to just call me Emily", she said scolding playfully "okay Emily" I can't help but to do what she asks plus she's really nice. "Since you're here why don't you have breakfast with us, don't worry I already told your mom," "sure Emily, thank you" I was surprise by the sudden invitation and because this is my first time.

As we walk inside I saw Mr. Reed already sitting at the dining table, "Good morning! Mr. Reed" I greet "Good morning! and John will do" he said with a warm smile on his face. When we're all sitting and was about to take my first bite "What about Liam? Isn't He coming down?" I know they have a son named Liam, Emily mention him last week whom I haven't yet to meet. They look at each other and when John was about to answer Emily beat him to it "He's not coming down to eat" she said. I want to ask them why but I guess it's already written on my face "He's doesn't want to maybe next time sweetie" this time John added and resume eating. I ignore the strange feeling I got and drew my attention back to my food. At the back of my mind I can't help but wonder why, why doesn't he want to come down?
