The next day signaled the start of the trial against Kingsley– my father’s trial would be two weeks later because they were two separate cases, but it meant the whole process would be drawn out, and even if I won the first one there was no guarantee I would win the other. The stress was eating at me, and the only things that had kept me moderately sane in the days leading up to it were Hunter and the hope of working for Debra.
