“Grace, I saw the news,” Sarah said sadly into the phone. “Are you okay?” “I’m alright,” I told her, swallowing the emotion in my throat. The story about Kingsley and my father being arrested at the auction had been picked up by news stations across the country, and our dirty laundry was being spread like wildfire the morning after the event.
