Liam hollered for Harmony to leave, dragged Iona onto the floor, and then pounded on her chest for forty minutes, trying to restart her heart. He used the heart shock machine from his medical kit. He yelled at her to come back, injected her with what he called his “last resort,” and probably broke most of her ribs on that side. When he walked out of my bedroom, he was sweating like he’d run a marathon, his face drawn like he’d come in last place.
