We laid there, holding each other until I looked at the clock and got upset. It was already 11, I only had half an hour. I didn’t want to leave him.
“I have to get going soon” I said without moving.
His arm squeezed me tighter, “I wish you didn’t have to.”
“Me either” I kissed his chest, and raised my head.
He bent down and kissed my lips, holding me close to him.
We got up off the bed, and started to put our clothes back on. Slowly, I put on each piece of clothing. Right as we were about to leave his room, he stopped and went back to his closet. Pulling out his sweatshirt.
“I wore it this morning before work.” He said handing it to me, giving me a smile.
I took it, and pulled it over my head; breathing in his scent. I smiled back at him.
“You’re coming Wednesday night, right?” He asked me, taking my hand and leading me down the stairs.
“Yes, I’ll be there. Screaming your name.”
“As much as I love the sound of that, I’d rather you be screaming it somewhere, in private. Again…”
His comment made me blush, he brought my hand up to his lips and kissed it. “Don’t be embarrassed. You make the most beautiful sounds.”
The red only grew deeper on my cheeks.
He laughed and we continued into the kitchen.
Looking out the window, I realized Craig was home. Oh NO!
“When did he get home?!?” my voice filled with worry that he heard us.
“Huh?” Steven turned around and looked out the window; “I do not know, but it doesn’t seem like he came into the house. The garage lights are on.”
“Phew” I let out a sigh, thankful that he thought to not come in to the house.
We walked out to my car, hand in hand. He opened my door and I slid into the front seat. I started my car and he bent down to kiss me, one more time.
Craig emerged out of the garage as I backed out of the driveway. Waving goodbye.
I got home with 10 minutes to spare. Taking a shower and going right to bed, I couldn’t stop thinking of him. He was the only thing I saw in my dreams.
I woke up to the screeching of my alarm. Monday. Ugh, school.
I got dressed, adding his sweatshirt to my outfit. It was chilly that morning, it felt good to be wrapped up in his warmth and scent.
Pulling into the school parking lot, I could see Katie and Roxanne standing at the smokers’ corner. I walked over and joined them. I couldn’t remember if I even had one smoke yesterday, the car ride home was a blur.
“Ooo looky what we got here.” Katie said, her voice sounded full of annoyance. “I called you like 20 times yesterday! BOTH of you!”
I looked to Roxanne, I wasn’t sure what time Craig had gotten home and I was so caught up that I didn’t reach out to her when I got home.
“Matt and I had a huge fight! I needed you guys.” She cried.
This was the normal routine though, she’d see a guy…like a guy…have s*x with the guy…fight with the guy. The fighting and making up would last two weeks maybe three. Depending on how good in bed he was. Then she’d move on to the next. She was like a black widow, but instead of killing them, she'd just tear them down and beat them to shreds.
I was too happy to allow her emotional train wreck ruin my mood.
I didn’t bother smoking a cigarette, I just stood there waiting for them, throwing looks at Roxanne while Katie kept on complaining about Matt.
Poor guy I thought, he has no idea what he got himself into.
“Enough about me.” She suddenly said.
We had started to walk to the school before the first bell rang.
“Tell me, what did you two do yesterday?” Katie continued.
“Well, we slept in then cleaned the house just in time before my parents got home.” I told her
“Then the twins came over, had dinner with us and her parents.” Roxanne added, conveniently ignoring the fact that we were all going camping this weekend. I thanked her silently for that. I did not want her coming with Matt and ruining the trip.
“Seems like you got a new sweatshirt” Katie added, tugging on the sleeve where Steven’s name and jersey number were embroidered.
“Um, yup.” I kept walking into our first class. We didn’t split up; there wouldn’t be a moment during the school time when we were apart. We had every class together.
She shot me a look, but didn’t press the subject. Good, I thought, I didn’t want to go into the details at school, and I really didn’t want to tell her.
Classes seemed to blur during the morning. During lunch we sat outside, thankfully it was sunny out. Sadly, it was so warm that I had to take the sweatshirt off. I felt naked without it on me.
My phone started to ring, I wasn’t able to grab it in time before Katie grabbed it. “Steven?!? Why would he be calling you during the day?!?”
I shrugged “No, wait.”
But she flipped open the phone and said hello in a sexy voice. Heat of rage ran through me, I was not happy with the s**t she pulled and I was not going to allow her to f**k this up for me.
I grabbed the phone out of her hand, just in time to hear him “Um, can I talk to Stacey?” He knew it wasn’t me! The joy made my heart flutter. I gave her a dirty look and flipped her off.
“Calm down b***h, don’t get all worked up.”
I walked away though, putting the phone up to my ear “Hi! Sorry Katie grabbed my phone before I could.”
“I figured, I’ve been hearing lots of stories about her this morning.”
I knew he would have, she’s crazy. Everyone talks.
“Yeah, me too.” I laughed
“I miss you.” The words made my laughter stop and I was frozen in mid-step; a smile crept across my face. He was thinking of me, as much as I was thinking of him.
“I miss you too” I said after a moment. Behind me, I could hear Roxanne telling Katie to calm down and to stop being a b***h just because her boyfriend was being a d**k. Katie gave her a dirty look and walked away.
“I couldn’t go the whole day without talking to you. And with lacrosse right after school, then work. I wasn’t sure what time I’d be home and didn’t want to say I’d call you to then not be able to.”
“I’m glad you called. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you.”
I could hear the smile in his voice “me either.”
“Oh s**t, I gotta go the teacher saw me on the phone.” He quickly said “I’ll try to call you again tomorrow, same time. If that’s okay” he asked.
“Yes, I’ll have my phone on me.”
“Ok then, bye.”
I turned around closing my phone shut, walking back to Roxanne. She was sitting alone.
“Where did she storm off to?”
“Who knows, who cares?” Roxanne replied, finishing her lunch.
“Right now, I couldn’t agree more with you…so how was your time with Craig?” I asked her.
She smiled at me “It was, perfect” and by her tone, I could tell she had just as much fun as I did.
I giggled “same.”
“SERIOUSLY?!?” she said wide-eyed.
“Yes, it was amazing.”
She laughed, “Girl you got it bad.” She stood up just as the bell ending our lunch rang.
Grabbing my bag, “I think you’re right. But I wouldn’t change it.”
We walked back into class; Katie was already sitting at her seat. Acting pissed off at us. I didn’t care anymore, I was happy; and by this time tomorrow her mood will have changed.
