“I don’t see anything wrong with that” he stated and bent over to kiss me again.
I scooted closer to him as his arms wrapped around me, holding me tight.
It took everything I had to stop kissing him, but the weather had other plans and I felt a raindrop hit my skin. I swear it evaporated the instant it touched me, a fire had ignited within.
We rode back to the garage, my arms wrapped tightly around him. Walking hand-in-hand to the house, just as the rain began to pour down.
The music was on full blast as we walked into the house, filled with so many people. I searched the sea of new faces for a familiar one.
Sitting on top of a kitchen counter, Roxanne had Craig standing between her legs, facing away from her as he chatted with a small group of boys.
His arm resting on her leg. They had already broke open a case, and were soon ready to break another one open. Katie came walking over with a huge smile on her face.
“About damn time! Where the hell have you two been?!”
“Just riding around in the woods” Steven replied to her.
“Take your phones with you next time! I missed my girl.” She said as she slid one of her arms around my waist and pulled me away from him.
He squeezed my hand and let it go.
“I’m going to get us some drinks” he said as he started to walk away.
Katie led me over the Roxanne. When she saw us walking over, Roxanne had pushed Craig out of the way and slid off of the counter, slinking her arm with mine.
Steven appeared in front of us, handing me a drink. He leaned in and kissed my cheek.
“I’ll be with Craig” he said to me and turned around to hang out with his brother.
The girls escorted me out to the back deck.
The deck had a plexiglass roof, allowing us to sit outside while the rain poured down.
“Spill it!” Katie demanded, “I know something happened out there. No one is gone that long without something happening.” She pulled 3 cigarettes out of her pack, handing one to Roxanne and then to me. We both shook our heads and she gave me a puzzled look.
“We both made deals with the boys.” Roxanne told her “They won’t chew and we won’t smoke. As long as we are physically together. It’s kind of romantic.”
Katie huffed, and stuck the cigarettes back into the pack “Seriously?! That’s stupid.”
“No it’s not, chew is gross I don’t want that s**t in my mouth.” I replied, irritated with her statement. Irritated with her to begin with.
She rolled her eyes and continued to press on, wanting to know what happened.
“Well, we talked and kissed and saw the beginning of the sunset.” I didn’t want to tell them everything. Not right now anyway.
“That’s it?!?” Katie sounded disappointed. “You’re never going to lose your virginity if you continue to be a prude and only kiss Stacey!”
I rolled my eyes at her and took a gulp of my drink. I looked to Roxanne. She never threw my virginity at me as if it would make me drop my pants for the next boy I met.
“Well Katie, she just doesn’t want to have s*x with a boy and have other people hear them make their wild animal noises.” Roxanne said to her.
I almost lost my drink, but I managed to swallow it down before I started laughing.
“Oh my God, you didn’t?!?” Katie turned red and she took a sip of her drink.
“Oh yes we did” I said between laughs.
Roxanne then tried making a goose sound and I fell over in laughter, holding my drink up so it wouldn’t spill.
Katie started to laugh with us after a minute, realizing that we were making fun of Matt.
“Well, boys make weird noises. One day you’ll know.”
I stopped laughing as I laid on my back looking up at the rain hitting the roof, the raindrops rolling off of it.
Roxanne had stopped laughing, and they both, laid back as well.
I laid there until my drink was empty. “I need to get another one,” I said as I started to sit up. That’s when I saw a person standing out in the now trickling rain staring at us from across the lawn.
“Um, someone is watching us.” I said to them.
They looked at each other, Katie grabbed her phone from her pocket and kept it behind my back. Hiding its glow. Roxanne sat up and we watched as the figure started to walk towards us.
We had no idea how long they were standing there, and it had been raining so hard that we didn’t hear them pull up.
I heard a low phone ringing and realized Katie was calling someone, whispering I heard her tell whoever it was to come to the back deck right away before ending the call.
“Crystal” I said as the person’s face became visible.
