I picked Roxanne up the next morning before school, stopping at DD on our way in. “Soooo?” I asked her. “So what?” She replied. “You stayed later than I did...and Craig brought you home…plus you said Katie did something last night, which I have s**t to tell you too..” My voice trailed off, hinting for her to fill in the blanks before I told her the news about John and Katie hooking up. “Wait, what s**t do you have to tell me?” She asked, turning towards me as I parked in the student parking lot. Getting out of the car, I linked my arm with hers as we walked to the smokers corner. Seeing Katie already standing there. “John and her hooked up last summer!” I whispered into her ear, not wanting anyone else to hear. Her mouth fell open, “Shut the f**k up” she whisper-yelled. “Mmmhmm” I shot back with my lips pressed together. “What a b***h” She breathed out as we stepped closer the Katie and the corner. “Yeah, totally...we’ll talk more later.” I said as we stopped walking. “Hi.” Katie said to us, handing us a cigarette as if it were a peace offering. We both took it, because who turns down a free butt? “I know this isn't going to make up for how I acted and I'm sorry.” She said to us. Katie talked while we smoked. Flicking the butt to the road just as the first bell rang. Walking towards the entrance I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. Pulling it out Katie noticed who's name flashed on the screen. “So. Steven...” I ignored her,  reading the text message instead. “Hey you! Can you have a lunch date? I got co-op today and can come have lunch with you. Craig wants to come too...lol” I stopped by the office on my way in, getting Steven and Craig a visitors pass. “Got you both a pass! 12?” I texted him back. “Cya then :-*” he typed. I smiled at the screen, “Can’t wait :-*”  I caught up with Roxanne, linking my arm with hers. Katie walked a few feet ahead of us. “We got lunch dates.” I said to her. Her face lit up, “seriously?” “Yup, Steven just texted me and I got them passes.” I said waving them in the air. “I have to tell you about last night.” She pushed me into the bathroom. “What? What's wrong?”  “Katie called Craig while we were together last night.” My mouth fell open, “WHAT?!” “He told her he was busy and got off the phone. But I mean seriously why the hell is she calling him and, AND when did this start?” Roxanne was pacing back and forth. “What happened after he got off the phone with her?” I asked her. “We hung out, he drove me home...and kissed me goodbye.” “Hold on, he kissed you?!” I made her stop pacing. Her face blushed, “yes!” She said with a smile. “Rox, I think you should say something to her. Let her know you aren't okay with her calling him.” “Yeah, maybe.”  The last bell rang, indicating we were late for class.  I handed her the visitor pass, “we have an excuse.” We walked into the classroom, showing the teacher we were in the office. Taking our seats Katie gave us a questionable look. Roxanne turned around in her seat to face her, “Don't call Craig again.” She said turning around to face the front, not waiting for a reply. Katie's mouth fell open, turning her head to me. I shrugged my shoulders while pulling out my notebook. My phone started vibrating again, dancing across the desk. I grabbed the phone unlocking it and turning off the vibration. “4 hours and counting.’” I smiled at the screen.  “Miss Thomas, do you feel like telling the class what's so important on your phone?” the teacher said from the front of the class. I clicked the phone shut, “No sorry.”  The teacher turned away, and Katie leaned over “who is it?” She whispered. “Steven” I mouthed turning my attention to the teacher. The morning ticked by slowly before Katie tried to talk to Roxanne about what she said in the morning. “Roxanne can we talk?” She asked as we left our last class before lunch. “Uh, no sorry we have lunch dates.” Roxanne replied to her pulling me towards the office. We were on the other end of the hall when we spotted Steven and Craig standing there. Craig looked at Roxanne and waved, a smile covering his face. I looked at her, “Seems to me that you have nothing to worry about.”  Looking back in their direction I saw Steven looking right at me; a chill ran down my spine. “He looks like he's undressing you. He wants you bad” Roxanne said. I smiled at him, thinking about just how badly I wanted him too. “Hey you.” Steven said, bending down to give me a kiss. “Hi” I replied after our lips touched, smiling up at him. We took their name tags and stuck them to their shirts. “You ready for the best lunch ever?” Roxanne asked with a laugh. Steven took my hand in his as we walked down the hallway. We walked into the cafeteria, feeling everyone staring at us. “Don’t mind them.” Roxanne said with a laugh. We all got a lunch and made our way to the table. Katie was sitting in her normal spot when she saw us walk up. “Hi!” She looked at Craig; “what are you two doing here?” She asked while Steven and I sat down next to each other, our chairs close and his arm around the back of my chair. “Lunch date.” Craig replied, smiling to Roxanne. She blushed in response. Katie's face looked annoyed. “With school, work, and lacrosse we don't have time for a normal date. But I wanted to see Stacey.” Steven said, now making me blush. I smiled at him, and he kissed my cheek. “So” Katie started “why didn't you tell me Steven was your boyfriend Stacey?” I almost choked on my drink. “Uh…” I turned my head to Steven. “Because I haven't officially asked her to be my girlfriend...yet” he paused, “I was hoping to do so tonight, when we saw each other after practice.” “Really?” I asked smiling at him. He nodded in response. “My bad.” Katie replied, “I'll leave you four to your date, I have s**t to do anyways.” She got up and left the cafeteria. “Well?” Steven said looking at me.
