Chapter 3

    (Still Kyle’s point of view)

      I quickly parked and got out then we headed into the bakeshop. As we walk in Daphne is just putting her apron on. “Hey Daphne, how are you doing today?” I asked her.“Oh hey, Kyle, and Ben I’m doing good. Alexia is over there in the window booth Ben. How are you doing this morning Alpha?” was her response. “I’m doing much better now Mate since I get to see you,” I told her. “So what would you like today?” she asked.

 “Six Boston crème doughnuts and four large coffees. I don’t know how you or Alexia take your coffee. But you do so, my coffee is the same as yesterday. And Ben takes three sugars and two splashes of milk,” Was my reply. “I take my coffee with three sugars and a single splash of milk. And Alexia doesn’t drink coffee, but I’ll get her a large hot tea with two sugars and two big splashes of milk,” She said.

    I smiled at her and said, “Ok, and is Boston crème ok, or do you and Alexia prefer some other kind of doughnut.” She laughed and responded, “Boston crème is fine for me although my favorite doughnut is Vanilla crème. As for Alexia, her favorite is the chocolate delight.” “Ok, then I will take two Vanilla crème, four Boston crème, and two chocolate delight doughnuts. As well as three large coffees and a large hot tea,” I told her. She smiled at me and said, “You got it Alpha.”  I just smiled at her and walked to the booth where Ben and Alexia were sitting.

    “Hey, you two I ordered us all some doughnuts and coffee. Although I was told that Alexia doesn’t drink coffee, so I got you hot tea,” I told them. Daphne walked up to the table and said, “Here are the doughnuts for you three and your coffee Ben. Kyle here is your coffee, and your tea Alexia.” “Thank you, Daphne we hope that at some point you can enjoy your coffee and doughnuts,” I told her. “Oh I will probably around lunchtime,” she said. Then she walked away to take care of other customers.

     “So, Alexia what do you think of my delta?” I asked. By the way, Alexia blushed I could tell that she was starting to like Ben.“Well maybe I like him a little bit,” She replied. Ben blushed but also said, “Just a little bit? You don’t think that I’m adorable?” She laughed at that and kissed his cheek. I got a little bit envious of them. So I got up and went to sit closer to where Daphne was working. “Hey Daphne, when do you get a break?” I asked her. “In about a half-hour” was her reply. “Do you want to sit and talk with me while you are on your break?” I queried. “Sure I think that would be wonderful,” She said in response. Then she walked away to finish the work she had to do before she could take her break.

      Kyle and Ben have been here all morning so far. Now it’s almost time for my break. I walk over to where Kyle is sitting and ask, “What is it that you wanted to talk about?” “I just wanted us to get to know one another better,” Was his response. “What is your favorite color?” I queried. He replied, “My favorite color is sky blue. What is yours?” I thought about that and said in reply, “That’s a bit tough I would say that I have two favorite colors. And they are blue and red.” He said, “That’s cool what is your favorite food?” I replied. “I would have to say pizza, what’s yours?” “Mine is lasagna,” Was his response.

     I looked up as four teenagers walked in. “Well mate I have to get back to work now,” I told him. He said, “Ok my Luna what time do you get off?” I laughed at him and said, “I get off at four in the afternoon my Alpha." Then as I went back to work I heard him say, “My gorgeous Luna I will have you soon.”  My response was to sashay while replying, “Sure you will my Alpha.” I walked up to the table that the teenagers had sat and there were two boys and three girls. The girl that seemed like she was single looked extremely similar to Kyle. So I figured that was his sister, “Hello everyone, my name is Daphne, how may I take your order?” I asked.

    “Hello Daphne, my name is Cassandra, and these are my friends Liam and his mate Francesca. And these two are Sarah and her mate Isaac. I would like a large hot tea and three vanilla crème doughnuts please,” responded the girl I thought was Kyle’s sister  “Nice to meet you all. And Cassandra how would you like your tea?” I replied. They all said that it was nice to meet me too. And in response to my question, Cassandra said, “Call me Cassie and I like my tea light and sweet so three sugars and a big splash of milk.” “Anything for the rest of you?” I queried. Liam responded, “We will have four large coffees, two chocolate delights, three Boston crème, and six sprinkle doughnuts please.”

    “I will be right back with your orders,” I told them. I walked to get the doughnuts first and take it to them. Then I went to get their coffee and Cassie’s tea. “Here is the rest of your orders,” I told them. “Thank you Daphne by the way have you seen my brother Kyle and his friend Ben here?” was Cassie’s response. “Yes Kyle is over by the counter and Ben is sitting with my cousin in that booth next to the window,” I told her.

    “Thank you, Daphne, do you mind if I call you Daph?” she replied. I responded, “I don’t mind it at all, it would make me feel like we were friends.”She smiled at me and whispered, “You’re my future sister-in-law so of course, we will be the best of friends.” I smiled at her then suddenly I heard my name being called. “I have to go now Cassie I will talk to you later,” I told her. Before turning around to see who called my name. I saw that it was my little brother, so I walked over to him and said, “Jack why don’t you and your friends go sit in the booth next to Alexia and Ben.”

     “Ok Daph, I will you, know that I want the usual order. But I am not sure what the guys want,” He replied. I told him, “I’ll be over with your usual and then I will find out what your friends want.” He just smiled at me and walked to the booth.

    (Kyle’s point of view)

    I watched as my gorgeous mate took my sister and her friends’ order. And then stayed to talk with my sister for a few minutes. When suddenly her name was called by a little boy with the same dark brown hair as her, He talked to her for about three minutes before heading to the booth she had indicated.

    Which was right next to Alexia and Ben, “Ben ask your mate who that little boy was that my mate was just talking with please,” I mind-linked him even though it killed me to have to get the information this way, He replied, “Alpha that little boy would be the Luna’s little brother,”  “Thank you very much delta, And please do tell your mate that I said thank you, and welcome to the family.” He responded, “Your welcome Alpha and my mate said that she and the Luna are testing us. Before they fully decide if they’re going to become a part of our family.” Just as I was about to reply to him.

     When Cassie mind-linked me saying, “Kyle I already loved her as a new sister so don’t make a mess of this s**t. And tell Ben to stop being an asshole and bring his mate over here I want to meet her.” “Cassandra Mae Turner stop that cursing before I make you scrub the daycare from top to bottom with your toothbrush every day for a week,” I responded to her using my big brother tone with her.

    “Kyle the big brother tone is useless now. And I may only be eighteen but I’m legally an adult. So please don’t try to get me to believe that the big bad alpha doesn’t use such language,” She told me rolling her eyes. “Even if I do use this type of language you can’t at least not when you’re talking to me your Alpha,” Was my response. Then I went back to observing my mate. As I saw Ben and Alex suddenly get up and walk towards Cassie, Ben was giving Cassie hell through the pack mind-link.

    My beautiful Luna came up to me and asked, “Is everything alright between Ben and Cassie?” I replied, “Why Yes my dear mate Ben is just telling my dear sister that although she is nineteen now. She is still under my care, and as such can’t curse at me or try to boss me around.” “And what was she trying to tell you to do?” she queried.

     I looked at her and saw that she had a mischievous smile on her face. So I responded, “It was mostly about yours and my relationship and how much she already loves you.” She just smiled and said, “Don’t be too hard on her she is just looking out for you.” “I know, but as her big brother and alpha I deserve her respect,” I told her seriously.

    She told me, “Yes, and I’m sure you have it, but she is testing her boundaries.”  “I get that, but she can’t try to dictate to me in public,” Was my response. She queried, “What would you do if you were in her shoes?” I thought about that and responded, “I honestly have no idea.” “Men” she muttered as she walked away. I looked at my watch and saw that it was three-thirty in the afternoon. I haven’t checked in with James all day so I mind-linked him, “Is everything under control beta?” I asked. “Yes, Alpha everything is great at the pack although your sister’s choice of words wasn’t appreciated by your parents,” Was his instantaneous response.

     “Oh, James just a quick question is my sister your mate?” I queried with a devious smile. “Well, I can’t lie to my alpha so I will answer honestly. Yes she is my mate, but she has no idea yet brother,” He answered with a sad laugh. I responded, “She will come around brother, and can I just say I always felt like you would be her mate.”  “Well bro she has yet to come around,” He replied. “Don’t worry bro I know she will come around. She is currently receiving a big brother like talk from Ben for cursing at me and trying to tell me how to run my relationship,” Was my remark. He responded, “He better not make her cry. Or I will make him cry.” I laughed at that and said, “She is laughing at him and telling him to stop treating her as if she were six.”

    I watched as Cassie smacked Ben upside his head. “Hey bro she just smacked him upside his head,” I told James. He laughed and said, “I hope she gave him quite a headache. He deserves it for questioning his beta female.” I smiled at that, “Ben join me and James in this mind-link,” I told my delta. He replied, “What is going on alpha and beta?” James responded, “Well delta it turns out you were just hit upside the head by your future beta female.” Ben turned to his mate and said, “Lexia I am going to go talk to Kyle for a minute.” She smiled at him and said, “That is a perfect idea babe I’m going to talk to Daph for a little anyway,” He smiled and said, “I will talk to you in a little bit then.”

    He then kissed her cheek and walked over to me. “Alpha what did James mean when he said that?” he asked. I replied in the mind-link, “He means that Cassie is his mate.” “Why are we doing mind-link and not talking out loud?” He asked. James replied before I could, “Because she doesn’t know you dipshit.” Ben looked shocked as he looked over at Alexia and Daphne talking to Cassie. “s**t bro sorry is there anything I can do to help,” He said. I replied to Ben instead of James, “You can be careful and not give it away while subtlety hinting that her mate might be close and a member of our pack.” Ben looked at me and replied, “Will do brothers but can I at least tell my mate?”

     James responded, “Yes as I know you would be unable to keep secrets from her, By the way, do be sure to tell her that I said hi,” “Will do bro when are you going to confess to Cassie?” Ben asked James through the mind-link, I told Ben, “James will do it when he is ready, but you’re right she does deserve to know as soon as possible so she can make up her mind.” Just then my mate and Alexia came up to us and asked, “What are you boys talking about?” I answered. “We were discussing James’ mate and how he should approach her.” They looked at each other shocked and then back to us.

     Then they inquired, “Who is she, and more precisely what is she?” I replied, “First of all she is in this bakeshop. And secondly, she doesn’t know so we will talk about this after Daphne gets off of work.” Daphne looked at me and said, “I’m already off of work so we can go now We’ll just go say goodbye to Cassie and her friends.” “Ok babe just be careful not to say anything to her about James finding his mate. We don’t want her to start bugging him about her,” I told her.  She looked at me and said, “Ok baby I’ll be careful not to let anything slip.”

    With that, she and Alexia walked back over to Cassie and said goodbye. Ben turned to me and asked through the mind-link, “So how do you plan on explaining to her about James and Cassie being mates?” I replied, “I honestly don’t know, but I will think of something.” We then saw the girls returning so we got up and walked to meet them. “Babe, can we go somewhere to talk privately and just get to know each other better?” I asked Daphne. At the same time, I mind-linked Ben, “Head towards their coven but not to close because we don’t want them to interrupt you and Alexia talking.” He responded, “Ok Alpha I will, and you don’t go too far off territory,” I told him, “I will keep my Luna safe.”

“And I will keep my female safe,” He replied. So we walked out and went our separate ways them to the left. And us to the right so we would not be disturbed while we talked. She seemed a little nervous, so I asked her, “Are you ok my sweet and beautiful mate?” Her response was, “I’m fine babe, but I’m just curious is Cassie James’ mate?” I told her the truth, “Yes she is, but she has no idea yet, so we have to subtly help her realize it. Without telling her outright.” She looked at me and asked, “And how do we do that? Also, when does James plan on telling her?”  When she looks confused she is so sexy. I just want to bite on her lower lip whenever she bites it.
