Chapter 10

    (Still Daphne’s point of view)

      Just as we were enjoying the aftermath there was a knock on the door. “Who is is it?” Kyle asked. “It's me, James, can I come in?” James replied. “Give us five minutes beta,” Kyle responded. I jumped up and started getting dressed in the sweatpants and T-shirt Kyle gave me. Meanwhile, kyle put on a pair of sweatpants before saying, “You can come in now bro.”  Just then James came in and said, “Sorry bro but there are intruders on the western border.”

      We immediately got shoes on and ran to the garage. We met up with Ben and alexia at the fastest car we could take. Which as it turns out was Kyle’s 1956 Jaguar roadster. I secretly dreamed about just me and him driving somewhere secluded and having s*x in this car. And since Kyle had marked me he was able to hear my thoughts. I can also hear his thoughts and I can also block him if I want. As we drive Alexia and I start on the protection spell. Meanwhile, our protection teams are being given rides by several warriors.

      I look over and see Regina on the back of a beautiful dark brown wolf. I ask kyle, “Babe who is that wolf Regina is getting a ride from?” He replies, “That’s Greg babe why?” I inform him, “She seems attached to him because she keeps running her fingers through his fur.” He laughs and responds, “Maybe he is her mate we won’t know until we get through the fight.”We then arrived at the battleground where I see about a hundred vamps trying to overwhelm the border patrol. I immediately start throwing fireballs at all the invading vamps. We defeat all the invading vamps only killing those we have to.

     Afterward, we discussed me moving in with my mate.  And about two weeks after that I started feeling sick. So I went to see the pack doctor to find out what was wrong with me. The doctor was ben’s cousin named Trevor and his nurse was his mate. Who happened to be my friend Julie. So when I walked in she took one look at me and said, “Your starting to feel like you're going to throw up don’t you?” I replied, “How did you know that?” She responded, “You look a little green around the gills girly.”

     I was shocked by this as I said, “I really do is Trevor around?” Her reply was, “Yes, he is just in back taking care of Regina.”  I told her, “I think I might need a pregnancy test just to be sure.” It was June third and I knew that my mate was at a meeting with the next pack over. So this was a good time to find out. Ben was in charge of pack paperwork for now. While I handled any in-pack disputes. My in-laws were already planning a wedding for me and kyle. But we haven’t talked about it yet.

     I hope he pops the question soon although I could propose to him as well. I’d rather he propose to me yeah I know it seems old fashioned it's what will make me happy. Just then Trevor comes out followed by Regina, who is six weeks pregnant by the way. “Hello, you two, Regina how are you feeling?” She replied, “The baby and I are doing just fine. How are you feeling?” I responded, “I’m ok just feel a little like throwing up at the mention of food.”

    Trevor said, “Maybe you're pregnant. We will do a blood test and a urine test just to make sure.” Regina asked, “How much longer is the alpha going to be away?” I replied, “He will be home tomorrow evening?” “Do I need to call your mom huh daph?” Regina inquired. “No Reggie you don’t if it turns out I am pregnant I will be telling kyle first. Then I will let my parents know.” I informed her.

    I took the tests and then went home to await the results. Two days later Trevor called and told me that I was indeed pregnant. So I told Kyle and then informed all our families. About three weeks later kyle was taking me on a picnic to the meadow where we had our get to know one another session. As we were eating he asked me to marry him and I said yes. He then kissed my lips passionately and I couldn’t help but to kiss him back.

    Just as we had started to settle down to life as a mated couple there was a rash of rouge attacks. But not a single one of our wolves were seriously injured or killed. Whereas the rouges lost about half in every attack. Almost every witch or wizard on my protection team found their mates in pack members. Same with Alexia's protection team members except for Jeffrey he found his mate in my friend and protection team member Daisy.
