~~Katherine POV ~~
He glared at my body and I stood there waiting for him to apologize but instead he walked past me.
This is it. I just lost my patience and whatever respect I had.
"Get the heck back here." I yelled as I dragged his collar back to me causing murmurs in the store.
Everyone's attention was now focused on us. "How dare you! You bumped into me, spilled the hot coffee on my office clothes and even had the right to hit my butt! What nonsense!" I screamed in anger, frightening a lot of customers in place. But he stood there like I had just spoken some language he didn't understand.
"How much does the outfit cost? A coin or Two coins?" He asked which caught me off guard.
Who the hell was this abrupt man?
"To think a low classless employee like you could talk back at me is like playing with your resignation letter." He said and I glared at him in awe.
What was this young head man talking about?
"And to even be sure that you're accusing me of something I would never do because you aren't to my taste. How could you expect me to hit the flat ass cover you called a butt?"
"Will you just keep your filthy mouth shut!" I ordered with my hands in the air. "Mr. Man, who the hell do you think you are to think of me as a low classless employee?"
"I am the owner of the company and I know for sure you are one of my employees." He said like he was saying something that was a matter of fact.
I laughed frantically. "You must be in one of your dreams because clearly I don't look like a person who could work under you. And if I do, I would have given you the piece of my mind. Is there even a century where a company owner would come into his company and get one of his employees treated like trash then threaten her with a resignation letter? But then he started from you and you are a fool!" I yelled, as I pointed my hands to his face.
"You stand there and brag to me about your company. Do you think I give a s**t about the company and who owns it? Do I look helpless to you?. Beside the dress on me, I can feed your entire staff here so get that into your skulls and stop dreaming to be the only best person in the city." I spat to his face and pushed him out of my way as he stood there like he just encountered a ghost word.
Always a pain in the neck.
I stood In Front of the house that I hadn't stepped foot in for months. Fresh memories came in as we had heated conversation about my company.
"You must give your sister a share out of that company." My father had said but I was too reluctant.
"That company isn't built by your handwork or you share in the building. It was built by me and that would stand like that." I remembered vividly how I objected to his words and again he threatened me.
"If you don't get your sister involved with the business or not make a profit from it. I will ruin you." He had said with fury and anguish.
I remembered stepping out of the house in tears as my mother tried stopping me. They just wouldn't change their love for the first child.
I prayed silently and pressed on the alarm door. A minute later, the door was opened by the maid and I walked inside elegantly. I was wearing a navy blue slim fitted gown and my bare back could be seen. With matching black heels and black purse.
I stepped into the main room, my eyes roaming about till I saw a guy, or was he a man? His back was facing me and I was curious to know what it was.
"Who's home?" I spoke just to get his attention and he turned.
He turned. Gosh, I felt my breathing seized for a moment as I tried to be calm.
"What are you doing here?"I asked the arrogant man sitting comfortably in the main room.
He stared at me for a while and his face lit up for some reason.
"Aren't you the lady from my coffee store?" He asked instead, he was mused and I didn't even give a damn.
"I thought I asked you what you are doing here. So I think that should be your number one answer and not you asking about the coffee store." I fired at him and he smiled.
"You're fierce and I like it." He smirked which angered me the most.
"I asked why you were here, didn't I?"
"Well it's obvious if I don't know anyone here, I wouldn't be here so would you quit asking irrelevant questions? Even if you don't know why I am here. You could have at least sensed that I came here for someone." He retorted and I scoffed before I heard footsteps behind us.
"My daughter." I heard my mother's voice. I haven't seen her in months and it still felt like a year. She never gave me the mothers love but I still loved her regardless.
I stared as she rushed to me with her hands outside for a hug. She hugged me and I smiled forcefully.
"Yes mother. Who's this guy?" I asked instantly, my eye fixated on the arrogant fool.
Mind me if I call him a fool because he is indeed one.
"Just let's have a normal conversation and sort things out."
Karl Pov
I stared morosely at the lady In Front of me. I can't lie that I hadn't been daydreaming of her all day. I just couldn't stop thinking about her and her behavior. She just has a way for everything.
Mr. Lopez came in and if someone would have told me she wouldn't greet him then I would have battled with the person.
I stared at her and I saw the hatred gaze she had on him. I wasn't feeling that connection in their family. It was like they had something suspicious going on and I would want to know really quickly.
Then there comes the eldest daughter. Diana Lopez. To be honest, I would rather go for Diana than a menace.
If you ask me why I am here or what I am doing then I would simply say I don't know because I really don't know.
My parents had told me it was a casual meeting and they would be attending in no time.
I just fixed my directions at the last daughter of the house. I thought the last daughter is always the sweetest but then this one wasn't at all. She was the opposite.
"Are we just going to sit here and watch each other's mouth?" I heard her ask impatiently.
Why was she this impatient? Everyone else has things to do right?
"Katherine! Would you keep your mouth shut!" Lopez warned while I still stayed calm.
Oh, Katherine is her name. Such a pretty name for a fierce lady.
I cleared my throat after a brief silence and made to talk when she threw me a death glare. "So you're Katherine?" I asked and she hissed instead.
"I'm Katherine and so what?" She snapped at me.
"I'm Karl." I introduced myself, and she rolled her eyes.
"Do I look like I care? See, you young arrogant man. Just stay out of my lane or I would bite you harder in a very painful way that would make your heart skip. I don't know why you are here …."
Her words were interrupted by her sister and she hissed at her.
"Seems like you know him?" Her mother asked but she didn't reply.
Always a menace.
"All I just want to know is why we are here. Other than that , I'm not interested in any of these things."She said about standing up when her father hit the table with his hands.
"Whatever I say here. Must be obeyed."
"Then I would rather die than to obey you."She blunted out and this time I gasped.
"You're getting married." I heard him tell her and I frowned.
Getting married? To whom?
Deep silence eloped the area and for 15 minutes, she didn't shake and she didn't say a word. She just stared into the air like whatever they were saying was out of her word.
"To who?" I asked them and I could see a frown across her mother's face.
"You"
It was not my turn to stand stuff because what the heck was this.
