Charles' POV
"Thank you," I whispered into her ear, before I pulled back and looked into her eyes again, while she gave me a confused smile.
"Why are you thanking me? I really didn't do anything special, you know," she dismissed with a light chuckle.
"Maybe it's nothing special to you, but what you just said really means a lot to me, so I appreciate it," I replied, before I placed a soft kiss on her cheek.
When I looked at her once again, she seemed a bit surprised by my sudden move, but she didn't push me away either, so I took a chance and leaned in once again, as I kissed her on the lips, but as I deepened it, she suddenly placed her hand on my chest and gave me a gentle push, before she turned her face away from me, while covering her mouth with her other hand.
