“The motion had been granted..”
Those words sent a wave of relief down my spine. Just now, I'd been on the cliff of suspense, feeling like life was going to end if an unfavourable judgement was given.
Apparently, the trial was much different from the regular ones especially in the aspect that there wasn't another lawyer to oppose or challenge every of my lawyer's statements and this wasn't just because of my status, but also the status of the case..
It was nothing but a ‘Prove your innocence’ trial and maybe.. just maybe, if I was found guilty, a normal trial would be done.
I got up immediately as the jury pronounced the main words I was expecting.
“Upon the confirmation of your innocence, I hereby grant the freedom of his excellency, CEO Levi Banks”
I smiled even more br
