Regan's point of view The heavy metal door creaked open, its sound echoing through the walkway. A sigh escaped my lips as I stepped on the marble floor, my gaze darting around. I tucked my hand into my orange jumpsuit, walking through the hallway and humming, I have served jail and was now free. I couldn't wait to meet my wife's happy face, the joy that would be plastered on her face as she would run into my arms, planting my face with kisses. “Regan!” a voice called, startling me from my thoughts. The voice was familiar, from the rich cologne which hung heavy in the air, I could decipher who it was. It was Tony; my best friend. I whirled around in his direction, a smile on my face. “You still smell awesome,” I complimented, walking over to him. He had a straight face, his eye balls stretching and resting resting on my shoulders. “Take this!” he whispered, extending his hand. He held a black bag.”Change into something nice before we speak,” his words sounded more like a command. I stood in the bathroom, my gaze falling on the silver coated mirror. My eyes were swollen and I had some injuries on my face; a result of rough handling and of course, fighting with an inmate. The past three years have been a horrible experience for me, I must confess. I wore blue jean pants with a White shirt and a Jordans shoes. He dipped my hand into the bag, dragging out the body spray which he had put and I smirked, dousing it on my body. I stepped out of the threshold of the building and squinted against the harsh lights which sprinted down the sky. Three f*****g years, and I hadn't witnessed the beauty of the sun. The sky was orange, if my guess was correct it was evening. From a distance, I could see his black SUV and we walked right into it. The atmosphere was tense, and it looked like the world held its own breath. Tony was more than upset that he avoided staring at me. We pulled up at D'vinci bar and we walked right into it through the glass door. The clinking of glasses mingled with laughter filled the air. A smile appeared on my lips as we walked to the counter, Tony sitting beside me. “Whiskey,” Tony ordered. The bartender was a lady, she had the wisps of her head tucked behind her ears, her nose pointed and she had tanned skin. She looked flawless. She looked at me, “Someone had a rough day,” she teased, stretching her hand to mine. “Mind your f*****g business and get him a drink,” Tony threatened, his cold demeanor unnerving. “Jeez, give me a break,” She said disappointedly, walking to the shelve as she selected a bottle of whiskey. She filled my glass and moved out to attend some of the patrons who had emptied their glass. “You are a fool, Regan,” he said, looking at me, his face reddened in anger. I scoffed, “Thought you'd be keeping the attitude for the rest of the day,” I replied, placing the cup on my lips. “What the hell were you thinking? How could you agree to go to jail for a crime you didn't commit?” he asked, his eyes blazing with fury. I hissed, rolling my eyes. “For my wife? I'd definitely do anything for her,” I replied, taking a gulp of the whiskey, the burning sensation rushing down my throat. “s**t!” he groaned in annoyance. “That lady is using you, are you blind? She doesn't love you!” “She does, she was just upset!” I defended myself. “She accused you for a crime you didn't commit and now,” he said, taking a deep breath. Tired of his continuous nagging, I stood on my feet, “I got to go meet my wife. I'm done with this conversation,” I replied dismissively, walking out of the bar. Ofcourse, he trailed behind me. Tony was the kind of guy that would do anything to get on my good side. After an eternity on the road, he dropped me off my apartment and zoomed off without a word. I took a deep breath, exhaling as I walked into the building, a smile on my lips. My knuckles trembled as I grabbed the doorknob and walked into it. My eyes widened as I stared at my wife, Melissa cupping the balls of a peter, her co-worker. She devoured it lustfully, gagging him and oblivious of my presence. My jaw dropped, my heart beating violently. I felt the whole world freeze, my muscles tightening. Suddenly, she whirled around, our eyes meeting, “s**t,you are home?” she said, a hint of disappointment in her voice. I flinched back at her straight face, wasn't she supposed to be remorseful? “How could you?” I said, my voice cracking. I had gone to jail for a crime she had accused me of, as if that wasn't enough, she got intimate with a delivery guy. “Since you were out, I had to satisfy myself with a human…got bored of using sticks,” she said, walking over to the drawer. Peter; the delivery guy walked hastily, pulled his pants on, his lips quivering as he ran out of the room. Melissa rummaged the drawer, dragging out a stack of papers and flinging it to my face. “I'm done with this marriage, those are the divorce papers, I would be getting fifty percent of whatever you own,” she said, a smirk on her lips as she leaned against the wall. My breath came in short labored gasps,my mind reeling with confusion. Tony was right all these while and I had been a fool for love. Well, that was seven years ago. She had taken everything away from me and now, I have bounced back financially, becoming the boss of different companies, thanks to Tony who took me in after that day. My eyes fluttered open to reality and I hissed in disappointment, tracing my feet to the bathroom. I turned on the shower, the warm water cascaded down my spine, washing away exhaustion which had weighed me down. I strode to the dining room, grabbing a quick dinner before leaving for work. Just then, the buzzing of my phone punctuated the tranquilized environment, I reached for my pocket, and squinted to make out the caller's ID. “Tony,” I mumbled. “Yoh, you're celebrating your transfer, Yeah?”he asked,a hint of excitement in his voice. I scoffed, “Yeah, sure. At the Italian hotel, 6pm,” I said, a smirk on my lips. I was leaving the company to take charge of a government company, more like I bought the company with the solid figures in my bank account. “5pm already?” I mumbled, exhaling as I relaxed on my chair. Work time was over about an hour ago, I bet everyone must have left the company. I signed one of the files which was on the table before standing to leave. I strode into the elevator, the cool air washing over me before the elevator closed and descended. A few minutes later, I got to the hotel and climbed out. I could see Tony standing tall,a pair of glasses on his oblong face with a smile tugging by the side of his lips, making him appear more gentle. “Show off,” I muttered, staring at his expensive outfit. Everything about Tony screamed wealth. “My man,” I said as I walked close to him for a handshake. “Ready to get the night started?” he asked, grinning wildly. We walked into the hotel, heading to the ballroom. The music was blaring and the atmosphere was lively as I made my way to the exclusive bar’s counter to get drowned in alcohol. I tried to ignore the ladies who flashed me their best smile, trying to lure me with their enticing body. Tony on the other hand was getting grinded by women. The putrid smell of smoke and sweat assaulted my nostrils. The club was filled to the brim as expected on a weekend. “Whiskey,” I told the bartender and he filled my glass. The burning sensation could be felt as it rushed down my throat and I shut my eyes. After several shots, I saw a lady walking close to me, a smile on her cheeks. “Lie with me tonight,” she urged, tears rushing down her eyes. “Say what?” I asked in confusion. “Spend the night with me, I promise to pay double,” she begged. I didn't want to take advantage of her desperation, but at the other end I wanted to get wasted tonight, I had deprived myself of the pleasure. I cradled her in my hands as we walked into the suites, she had the perfect body for the satisfaction I craved. I thrusted her for a while, watching her moan in pleasure as I squeezed her hardened n*****s. Exhausted, I laid beside her, drifting off to sleep.
