Chapter 19: Another Party, Another Problem

I wake up and stare at the ceiling. You know it's not a good sign when you don't remember how you got home. I sit up and instantly lay back down, my head pounding as if someone jackhammered it for ten hours straight. A sharp reminder of why I originally gave up drinking in high school. It's also why I gave up Saz. I wince and glance at the time on my phone. Not late, but late enough that Mr. Fairweather will have something to complain about. I notice a glass of water and some aspirin sitting on my nightstand and smirk. Thanks, drunk Allie. Maybe you weren't that drunk after all. *** I somehow managed to get to work on time. At least today I stumble into work finally feeling like a regular. Hungover, prepped with a pick-me-up smoothie and reasonably sized sunglasses. Zelia would be proud.
