Chapter 9

760 Words
Adrian’s POV My heart could almost burst at the sight in front of me. My angel and my wife. She looks beautiful, ethereal. I didn’t even have the vocabulary to describe how stunning she looked. The dress fits her perfectly. After trying out multiple dresses that also looked okay on her, but not perfect. She would make rags look good honestly. This took the cake. It was perfect for her, for us. For our wedding, if it weren’t for the abruptness and the lack of intimacy and prior courting, I would have kissed her right here. The white lace dress flowed perfectly, complimenting her body and hair. It gave her a certain glow as she her face became immediately radiant. I don’t think I could keep the admiration out of my eyes. I couldn’t help it. I leaped up towards her. The dress was magnificent, it was a n ivory white strapless gown, with a ball gown flow. I couldn’t describe the details but I just knew that I loved it. Even if I didn’t, the look in her eyes gave it away. The moment she came out of the dressing room, I knew this was her choice. She loved it and in turn I loved it. I really couldn’t give two shits about dress design and style. I didn’t care much for it. Although for my wife, I would. She made the dress beautiful. The only reason other dresses didn’t make the cut was because her face didn’t sparkle when she wore them. She looked either bored or indifferent. No glow in her eyes and no admiration. So the moment she came out and I looked at her eyes, seeing it glow, watching me expectantly, as if I could say no to her. It became the perfect dress. “This will be it,” I ordered. “You’re lucky she got the perfect dress, where was that in the beginning.” The lady, whose name I keep forgetting fidgets again. What a scaredy cat. “We shall tailor it perfectly and have it ready before you leave sir,” she sputtered. My wife just continues to adjust her dress, spinning and smoothening it out. Once it was finalized, she went back in to change. When she got back, I ordered that they bring every pair of wedding shoes they had and jewelry too. My wife doesn’t speak much, she tends to keep to herself, but I had found the perfect hack for finding things out. Her eyes. They never lied, if she liked something, they sparkled, if she didn’t like it, they blanked. It was black or white really. And I loved that I was able to see it clearly. Only that I wish she looked at me with the same sparkly eyes also. But I’m not deterred, it was going to happen, sooner or later. I picked out the perfect shoe and jewelry based on her system just like that and we were down with bridal shopping. We were now left alone, waiting on the final packing of the items before we leave. My wife stood in front of the dress rail, her hands flipping through like pages of a catalogue. From my seat, I could only admire her, shamelessly at that. My wife was spectacular, I’ve always known it and I’m glad that I could finally have her to myself. The weight of the ring press heavily in my front pocket and I couldn’t wait any longer. It had to happen now, there was no time to plan a special occasion. We were getting married tomorrow, definitely. I took out the ring box in my front pocket, I had to complete this moment. Making my way to her, she turned around at the sound of my footsteps, eyes shining with confusion with furrowed brows. Her hands shock as I took it in mine from her sides, bringing it closer as I knelt down. “I know this is quite belated and not how you envisioned it to be but I’d like to propose to you formally.” “Will you marry me, mi amor. Make me the happiest man on earth—tomorrow.” Her face contorted painfully into hesitation, she looked like she was deliberating but I don’t give her the chance to. I quickly slid in the diamond ring on her ring finger. Mrs Maserati. Today she has my ring in her finger, tomorrow she would officially have my name— And my lips on hers in holy matrimony. God, I couldn’t wait for tomorrow.
