LAWRENCE. I was just driving past the Fun Park when I spotted them. Zee and Blake. Standing together like they’d been friends since birth, like Blake hadn’t spent the last few years making Zee’s life a living hell. I slowed down, not stopping—just enough to get a look. From the way Blake leaned in, all soft-voiced and covered up like a nun on confession day, I knew she was caving. Pathetic. She was probably already spilling everything. Maybe even about me. Zee looked confused. Wide-eyed. Her body was stiff, cautious. Like she didn’t quite know whether to step closer or bolt. The tension wrapped around them like fog, thick and toxic. I didn’t need to hear a single word to know betrayal was blooming right in front of me. I had sent Blake that video to remind her of who she really was
