Chapter 08 : Do I want to be here? No.

1444 Words
Minjun tried so hard to record literally anything without shaking. He shot some members discussing the project. He tried to shoot some scenes that Sungjae once described to him too. And Jisun was still with him, tailing him wherever he went and helping him swiftly. They checked some of the results together. “Hyung.” “Mn.” Minjun had already got used to Jisun calling him hyung even when they were not that close, yet. “Is it really difficult for you?” Jisun pointed at the camcorder. Sighed, Minjun was aware that the videos were shaking due to his unstable grip. He also felt uneasy about it. It was about time until the junior was brave enough to finally ask him about it. “I didn’t lie when I said I was good at this.” “Yeah, I know.” Jisun sounded sad saying it, at least in Minjun’s ear. But maybe it was just him. “It’s just… What I mean is, if it’s really hard for you, don't force yourself. Take it easy, actually you don’t have to do it either.” Minjun laughed at that, ironically. “If it was not for you coming to my house and almost getting trapped with mom, I really wouldn’t want to be here either. Believe me.” Jisun recalled what happened just a few hours ago and got ridiculously shy. “Sorry, hyung.” Here was the thing with Jisun. Everytime he said sorry or just simply ‘on the spot’, that boy always said everything in tiny. And it obviously did something to Minjun. It made him want to be upset at himself instead of defending his own opinion. He knew he had already said this, but heck he was gonna say it again anyway, it made him feel tiny too. Which was not good, he believed. And what the f**k did he mean by that?! Minjun clucked at his own internal battle, he offered the camcorder to the younger, which resulted in a questioning look from Jisun. “I’m done.” Seeing that Jisun didn’t take the camcorder, Minjun grabbed Jisun’s hand and shoved it until the younger finally took it hesitantly. After spending hours doing the club activity, for the first time in Minjun’s case, he told Chan that he really needed to go. Minjun wanted to go home and he was hungry. Even if the result was bad (he almost deleted the video he recorded), guessed, they had to put up with it anyway. At least Minjun was finished with the task. Chan let him. He said, “It’s a miracle that you came buddy, so go ahead.” Wink. Jerk. If there were no other club members looking at them, Minjun would have strangled the said leader already by now. Minjun left anyway, cast a single glance towards Jisun and tried not to look in Yunjin’s direction. He could care less about the envious look other club members threw at him. He was on the way to the school’s gate, the security greeted him pleasantly and he replied with a casual smile. The staff here, in this school, were surprisingly friendly and kind to him as a new transfer student in his 3rd year. It was also unexpected how they all knew him, Lim Minjun. Impossible if they still remembered him from his frequent visit some time ago. Anyway, Minjun didn’t have to think about it too much. On the matter at hand, he was super hungry now, but he wasn’t in the mood to eat his favorite seolleongtang. So what should he eat? His school was located not too far from the bustle of metropolitan life. It only needed a five minute walk and Minjun faced a line of restaurants competing with each other to gain more customers. Sandwiches seemed good. Minjun walked further, another three minutes walking, looking for a certain green and yellow light- Someone pulled his arm that he turned his whole body around. It was so sudden and so hard that it almost made him trip. “f**k!” Minjun was this close to flying a punch to whomever having the guts to yank him like that. It was so f*****g dangerous for God’s sake. Then he saw Jisun’s face. Minjun’s ready fist freezed in the air. With hand on knee, Jisun bent down to catch his panting breath. Another hand was still stuck on the senior’s elbow. Minjun could see a single sweat streaking down from his temple to his cheek, then to his jaw. Minjun lowered his fist immediately, “Jisun what the heck?!” “Hyung… I…” The boy must be running from school all the way here. He couldn’t even speak properly. Minjun removed Jisun’s hand that was still gripping his arm. “Don’t talk, breathe first.” “Haha…” Jisun’s smile was the widest Minjun ever saw. It was so wide that… that- “Hyung, I’m hungry.” -he was what? “Uh, what the-” Minjun was caught off guard. “Let's have it together, hyung.” Jisun was still smiling like he wanted to show his perfect teeth for the whole world to see. The boy was f*****g bragging about it. While Minjun was distracted by those white rows of teeth between those lips, Jisun looked at something behind Minjun’s back. “I’m craving a sandwich.” Minjun turned his head around. Subway, with its green and yellow lights. He never knew a shop front lamp sign could be so… blinding. It hurt Minjun’s eyes. Is it even allowed? He looked back at Jisun and the boy was still smiling. "You like sandwiches so much that you smile like that?" He laughed, "Yeah, I like it so much." - Why did he agree to this again? Minjun wondered as he thought so hard which one he should get for the two of them. Minjun had asked Jisun what variant the younger would like to eat, but that kid only said, ‘Same with you, hyung.’ It took him some other questions to make sure that Jisun didn’t have any allergies, so he could really freely choose whatever it was. But now that he stood in front of the counter, Minjun really had to make things hard for himself by worrying about what if Jisun didn’t like his choice? Ck! Not my problem, of course. Minjun ended with the most common and literally everyone’s choice of all time. It was the safest pick in his opinion, so he should just go with it. Once he was done with the order, Minjun brought their food to the table where Jisun was already sitting. “I got us tuna, don’t complain.” Jisun gathered his palms, “Woah, my favorite!” Minjun concealed his relieved sigh by raising his brows and mumbled, “Good.” He started to unwrap his sandwich and took a first bite when suddenly Jisun knocked on the table softly, snatching his attention. “Hyung,” Jisun gave him a piece of KRW 5,000 and put it on the table. Which he only responded with another lift of his brows. “Uh, I’m paying for mine?” It was not that Minjun didn’t get what Jisun meant, he just found it unnecessary. But maybe Jisun couldn’t understand his facial language, so Minjun shook his head. “No need, you can take it back.” “B-but-” Jisun stopped his words when Minjun pressed his lips into a thin line. “Thanks, hyung.” The younger took back the money and was going to put it back in his pocket when Minjun said, “Besides,” Minjun gave the money a pointed look. “It’s not enough.” Jisun couldn’t get it at first. It took him another ten seconds to finally understand. He looked at Minjun with his big eyes that turned rounder and rounder, “Oh… ah, s-sorry, hyung. I still have-” Minjun heaved a deep sigh. He meant to tell Jisun that because it would be embarrassing for Jisun next time. What if this kid craved for a sandwich like this again in the future and only brought 5,000 won in his pocket? Would he go home empty handed and also disappointed? But the kid didn’t understand and Minjun was too lazy to explain. So he shook his head and said, “It's a joke. Only a joke. Don't worry.” “Ah,” Jisun nodded and gave him an awkward laugh, then started to eat again. It was a strange… eating together. Minjun didn’t think he wanted that to happen again.
