Chapter 8: Red eyed Maniac's Friends

Adura could feel the change in the atmosphere, it felt like the entire place suddenly turned into a world of ice, but she was sweating profusely.

She never meant to slap him, and the most shocking thing about it was that the slap sent him flying for about 10 meters.

Adura did not know what to do, she was frozen in place, but when she heard Kyle calling her name she snapped out of it. She was about to go and apologize to Damian, but when she saw how angry he was as he tried getting up, she instantly changed her mind. She grabbed Kyle's hand and started running for her dear life.

“ hey where are you running to ” Kyle said as he tried to match her speed.

“ anywhere.... ” she said. She was running with all her might. She did not notice that Kyle was having a very hard time keeping up.

Students in the hallway could only see a blur passing by because Adura was too fast.

Meanwhile, Damian stood up but he felt a stinging sensation on his cheek, he was sure that the slap he received must have broken some of his teeth. He was furious but couldn't do anything because the culprit had run away and he did not have the energy to start chasing her, he needed to go and treat himself.

After running for about ten minutes at full speed, Adura finally stopped to catch her breath.

“ phew... We should be far away from him now ” Adura said as she took in a deep breath.

“ are you ok ” she asked as she turned back to look at kyle. Kyle was sprawled on the ground, he was panting heavily with sweat all over his body.

“you... Were.. running.. so..f..fast ” Kyle managed to say as his chest Rose and fell quickly.

“ am sorry ” she apologized, she did not expect that Kyle would not be able to keep up with her speed.

After some minutes, Kyle was able to fully catch his breath,

“ I didn't expect you to run so fast ” Kyle said

“ yes me neither ” Adura replied.

“we should start getting to class” Kyle said when he saw that the coast was clear.

adura and Kyle spent the day trying to avoid Damian.

During lunch break, Kyle was dragged away by some of his friends so Adura was left all alone. She decided not to eat in the cafeteria lest she ended up bumping into Damian.

She went to the rooftop to eat.

On getting to the rooftop, Adura was mesmerized by the intricate beauty of the night sky. She found a good spot and sat down. After eating not more than four spoons of her food, she started hearing some murmurings,

“ it looks like someone is coming ” she said to herself . She looked at the door till it finally opened. A group of 5 people were standing there but what made Adura's mind go blank was the fact that Damian was among them.

— oh Lord, I'm dead — Adura was stunned, her heart started racing when her eyes made contact with Damian's.

She stood up abruptly with a trace of fear and caution on her face.

“ looks like we're not the only ones who like eating on the roof ” said one of the 4 people with Damian. Her name was Laila, she was a warewolf, she had grey hair and Wolf like ears on her head, her eyes were silver and they glowed in the moonlight. In short, she was an absolute beauty.

“ I..I didn't know this was your spot, I'll leave immediately ” Adura said hurriedly as she packed up the remainder of her lunch.

The aura she felt from these five people was scary. Although they were not frowning or looking angry, she still felt uneasy in their presence, especially Damian's.

“ no need to be scared, you can continue eating. It's not a problem ” another person said. His name was Eren, he did not have any abnormal features except his eyes which were a vibrant orange color. At one glance you'd not be able to tell that he was a monster.

“ no.. I'll leave. I wouldn't want to inconvenience you ” Adura said persistently.

She moved briskly and walked past the group of people, she had only taken two steps when her hands were grabbed and pulled back. She bumped into someone's hard chest. She looked up and saw that it was Damian, her heart was in her throat. She did no know what Damian would do to her now.

She tried to wriggle out of his grip but she couldn't.

“ please, let me go ” Adura said in a whisper.

“ and if I don't” Damian said with an evil grin as he held her by her waist and brought his face dangerously close to hers. Adura could feel Damian's breath as it fanned her face, her heart skipped multiple beats.

She had never been so close to the opposite s*x before, she did not know what to do or how to feel.

Staring into those cold blue eyes made Adura feel things that she had never felt before, she felt her legs go week and her stomach felt tingly.

— what's happening to me — Adura asked herself in her mind.

Damian notice that Adura was reacting to him and the smile on his face broadened. He was about to continue teasing her but then he was interrupted.

“ { cough...cough } Damian, you guys should get a room ” the person who spoke was Ryan, he was a Griffin but at the moment he was in his humanoid form, he had brown hair and his eyes were shaped like a hawk.
