Early in the night, while the hospital activity began to slow and the leaders of the arsenal returned to their own building, a lone figure scaled one of the walls to the west, secluded in the shadow of the large mountain and generally ignored. The timing had to be perfect, a plan made over many days, as the former soldier called Eric shut down the electricity coursing down the wired walls for thirty minutes every night, providing the perfect window to leave and return. This figure crept in the shadows, with stealth and quickness of limb, not a rare find in the underground world of spies and criminals. The pre-planned meeting point loomed ahead, a nondescript tree among many in the woods adjacent to the arsenal, and well away from the scope of CCTV cameras installed on the arsenal’s gates
