The Lycan king promise

610 Words
The morning mist clung to the ancient forest as Nysera stood alone at the edge of the training grounds. Her sword felt heavier than it had the day before. Not because of its weight. Because of the truth she now carried. She was no longer just the rejected omega of Moon Shadow Pack. She was the last heir of the Moonborn bloodline. A queen. A target. “You’ll never master your power if you keep doubting yourself.” Draven’s deep voice echoed behind her. Nysera turned to find the Lycan King dressed in black training clothes instead of his royal armor. His golden eyes studied her with quiet confidence. “I don’t doubt myself,” she replied. “You do.” He walked toward her. “You hesitate every time you attack. You’re still fighting like someone asking permission to survive.” Nysera lowered her gaze. For years, she’d been taught she was weak. Worthless. Even after learning the truth, those scars refused to disappear overnight. Draven gently lifted her chin. “Look at me.” She met his eyes. “You survived betrayal.” “You survived death.” “You survived being abandoned.” “That isn’t weakness.” “That’s strength.” Something inside Nysera shifted. For the first time… She believed him. “Again,” Draven ordered. They sparred for hours. Each strike became faster. Each dodge became smoother. When Nysera finally disarmed Draven with a clever move, she stared at the sword in disbelief. “I did it…” A rare smile appeared on Draven’s face. “I knew you could.” Her heart skipped. That smile… It made the terrifying Lycan King look unexpectedly warm. Before she could say anything, a royal guard rushed toward them. “Your Majesty!” Draven’s expression hardened immediately. “What happened?” “The northern border has been attacked.” Nysera froze. “By rogues?” The guard shook his head. “Worse.” “The Black Fang Legion.” Draven’s eyes narrowed. “They’ve finally made their move.” Nysera remembered the name. The ancient army that served the enemy responsible for destroying her family. “They’re looking for me,” she whispered. Draven nodded. “They know you’re alive.” “And they won’t stop until you’re dead.” Silence settled over the clearing. Then Draven stepped closer. “I made a promise the day I found you.” “No one will ever hurt you again.” Nysera looked into his eyes. There was no hesitation. No fear. Only absolute determination. Before she realized what was happening… He reached for her hand. His warm fingers intertwined with hers. “I’ll protect you.” “No matter the cost.” Heat rushed to Nysera’s cheeks. For the first time since Kael rejected her… She felt safe. Far away… Inside the Moon Shadow Pack… Kael stood in his office, staring at an old scroll. His beta burst through the door. “Alpha!” “We found it.” Kael looked up. “What?” “The truth about Nysera.” The beta swallowed hard. “She isn’t just royalty.” “According to the ancient records…” “…she is your second-chance mate.” Kael’s eyes widened in horror. “No…” “It can’t be.” The scroll slipped from his trembling hands. If it was true… Then rejecting Nysera wasn’t just the biggest mistake of his life. It had doomed his entire pack. At that exact moment, a blood-red moon rose over the kingdom. And deep beneath the ancient Moonborn Palace… A pair of glowing crimson eyes suddenly opened. “The Queen has awakened…”
