CHANGING OF THE GUARD
As the three Law and Order ships drew to within two thousand kilometres of the orbiting station, they detected the energy signature of a 4D-ship initiating an interdimensional jump. A couple of minutes later the Comms Officer on Ship 2 finally made contact with Major Amil. He looped her in with the fleet’s other ships.
“Major, what’s your status?” Admiral Faxcil asked.
Amil’s face was drawn, and her expression suggested a combination of anger, sadness and dejection. “Sir, I have failed. We were betrayed.”
