CHAPTER SIXTEEN CLOAKS OF INVISIBILITY The waft of steeping tea greeted Ramuell when he opened the door. He was surprised to find a stranger sitting in front of the computer. His grandmother had pulled up one of the dinette chairs and was sitting on the man’s right. She was drumming her fingers rhythmically on the desktop – a sign that usually conveyed her frustration or impatience or both. Ramuell pulled up short, concerned that he was intruding. Both the adults hesitantly tore their attention away from whatever they were studying on the screen. Gathering his composure, the stranger stood and offered his hand.
