We're moving...

A room is shown with a male lying on his bed. Whispers were suddenly heard as his ears became sensitive. He immediately opened his eyes as his eyes changed to blue. He jumped down his bed opening the door to the terrace. He jumped down the terrace to the road. His eyes scanned the road in desperation as he saw shadows moving about, and just like a surge, he was controlled and in a twinkle of an eye, he caught up with the being. Holding his neck, he pushed him to the wall forcefully. "You freaky telepath, you really think you can end us all?" The being spoke grinning in defiance and a glint appeared in his eyes, one of satisfaction. "At least I could start with you. Game over arrow." He immediately took out a pen knife and stabbed it into the being's left chest. The being immediately fell to the ground. In his pupils, the picture of a flame suddenly appeared and the being caught fire burning to ashes. *** The car rode before a house and a man steps out walking to a young lady who also stood before the house. "You're late dad." she spoke and he smiled hugging her. "I'm so sorry Sian, I got stuck because of my boss." "ooo that grumpy boss of yours." she responded rolling her eyes. "Yes, that same grumpy boss. Have I also told you how his teeth looks like?." "ughh, that's gross dad." she said and he grinned. "C'mon, I'll take you on an extra treat." he said opening his car door and she entered inside the car. And just like a flash, another scene is shown. Sian walks in with her friend only to find the whole house dark. "Dad? Mom?" She called trying to find the light switch only for it to turn on. "Happy birthday to you!..." The crowd gathered in her house immediately started singing and she hid her face in her palms tearfully. "Happy Seventeenth birthday Sian." Her mom and dad wished as they finished singing and she hugged them tightly. "Thank you so much, I can't believe you invited all my friends over." Sian spoke and her dad touched her cheek softly. "I can't believe my little princess has grown up so fast. I'm so proud of who you've become." he complimented and she smiled. Immediately the scene changes again and Sian is seen screaming at the top of her voice. "No! Not on my birthday. There's nothing wrong with him, let him go!" She screamed as the EMT held her and her mother from getting to the burnt corpse. He was only saved early from burning to ashes but he was already dead. Sian fell on the floor helplessly. "Dad please...." she begged under her breath. Gasping for air, she immediately woke up. It was a dream. Still finding it difficult to breathe, she hurriedly took her inhaler that laid beside her and punched out air into her mouth, then she took a deep breath. "Sian? Get dressed, its almost time." A voice spoke from outside her door which she recognized to be her aunt's. She rubbed her face turning to her dad's picture that hanged by the wall. Unable to control her tears, she sobbed silently in her palms. They all dressed in black. Sian stood before the grave staring silently at his picture while her mom sat in the front roll with her aunt holding her comfortingly. "I can't forgive you for doing this dad. I'll never forgive you." She said cleaning the tears that fell down her cheeks. "You're the only one who understands me, how do you expect things to be now huh?" She spoke still in tears. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry for everything. For your grumpy boss, for never getting to achieve your dreams because you were too busy taking care of me, for your inconsiderate daughter, for taking advantage of the love you had for me. I'm so sorry." She immediately felt a hand on her shoulder and she turned only to see one her classmates, Darryl. "The news spread round the school. When we thought it was all a rumour, Alex confirmed it. We all came from school to tell you how much we care about you, Sian. Accept our grievances." he spoke and she stared behind him only to see all her classmates present and some other students. She pressed her lips together to seal the loud cry. "Thank you Darryl." She said as he hugged her. "Hey...." Sian looked up as she heard Alex voice. "Alex." Sian called walking to her and she hugged her tightly. "Its going to be fine Sian. I promise you that." Alex said and Sian sniffed, nodding. *** A month later, Sian laid on her bed when her door pushed open revealing Alex. "Sian? C'mon get up." Alex said walking closer to her. "Just let me be Alex." she groaned. "You've been saying this for a month now. You're getting yourself locked up in here like a prisoner." "Wrong...." Sian said sitting up. "I go to school and I come back home everyday. Isn't that enough leaving the house?" Sian questioned. "Your mom is worried about you Sian. I mean look at you, your eyes are all swollen up, your hair is messed up. You are way intelligent yet you seem to be slacking behind lately in school. Everyone has noticed that Sian." Alex said and Sian eyes immediately turned teary as she was about to cry. "No, no, no. That's enough. You know what, get dressed. You're not going to be missing this date." Alex said dragging her up. "I don't want to go on any date Alex." "Are you kidding me? This has been your dream since we were kids. Darryl is your childhood crush now he finally wants to go on a date with you, you suddenly don't feel like it?" "You don't understand Alex. Nothing is the same anymore. I feel like I'm totally shut out from everything, its just...." She paused short of words and Alex exhaled deeply falling silent for a while. "If your dad were here, he wouldn't want this to happen to you. Your whole life is ahead of you. I can't let you mess it up." she said and Sian paused for a while. "Are you still thinking about it?! C'mon go and dress up." "No dating, just one outing and that's it" she spoke standing up sluggishly. *** A boy of eighteen is seen walking into a historical building which contained past histories and pictures of legends, artifacts which was recovered from archeologists and other items of great worth. Many people were seen touring around the building with a guide by their side. He had a grim expression which still didn't affect his seductive feature. He had a thick black hair which was combed down and well carved. His eyes were deep as an ocean, in fact everything about his face attracted all the attention. He has a slim stature which nevertheless is still body built complimenting the black suite he wore. His legs were long and slightly curved which created an impression as he walked. Seeing who just walked in, a man walked to him. "Drake, you're just here in time. We've all been trying to reach you. They need you in the shield quarters. " "Is something wrong Seth?" Drake asked as they both started walking further. "I'm not sure, but reports has been coming in on the frequent missing and burning of bodies lately." Seth answered. "But that was the order given to us. The arrows don't die so easily." Drake defended and Seth shrugged. Reaching the elevator, they both entered. He raised the iron that the buttons in the elevator were planted revealing a glass on the wall where he placed his identity card and the elevator immediately started moving downwards. "No one out there is going to understand except we tell them what's really out there, that's a threat to their lives." Drake stated. "Well that is not an option. If this gets out, this secret agency will likely stop existing and you know what that means. All creatures in there, every single person with powers will be exploited by the scientists." Seth responded. As the elevator opened, they both walked out revealing another organisation with so many technological advancements and structure and also with different creatures working in different sections. High above them was a big shield hanged downwards. "Hi Drake." Every single creature that passed him greeted. Seeing two men walking into the science room, he paused. "I think this has more to do about me than about the arrows." Drake said and Seth bit his lip knowing what he meant. "Your dad just cares about you Drake." Seth stated. "Of course." Drake replied ironically. "See you around Seth." "Mmm, take it easy big guy." Seth answered. Walking into the lab room, they all turned to him. "You're late." One of the men that walked in earlier spoke. "I'm sorry...." he began. "Mr Tavern." he added and walked over to where two of his colleagues sat. "It seems you had a tough night. Your dad..." The young lady that sat beside him spoke. "Mr Tavern." Drake immediately corrected and she went quiet. "All the reports should come directly to my office from now on, so I know how to deal with some recklessness before it escalates." Tavern said making it so obvious as to who he was referring to. As soon as he walked out, the other man who he was speaking to sighed heavily, turning to them. "People are beginning to get suspicious. You all have to be careful of how you handle the arrows." he said to the three people sitting before him. "You know I can't help Burke. They draw me to them each and every time. I keep on waking in the middle of the night just to kill an arrow." "That's what makes you a shield Drake. You repel against every single arrow. But things are a lot more complicated now, we don't want the public to discover that such beings that are a threat to their lives exist. People are beginning to be more conscious of their environment, we don't want them seeing any of you out there." Burke answered and they nodded. "And what happens if they find out?" The lady amongst them spoke and Burke sighed. "Well, we just have to pray nothing of such happens before we find a way to wipe them all out, or things will get bad Casey. The arrows know they are not known yet and that's the only reason they are in hiding. Once things gets out, I'm afraid we might not be able to hold them back." Burke answered. "So what happens now?" The third boy spoke. "All the agents are gathering today, we'll have to find a way out." Burke said taking an injection which was filled with liquid and he pierced it into each of their bodies. "Inform the rest of the Shields on how things should be handled to avoid getting caught. Drake, Casey, and Jamie. You three were chosen because of the specialty of your powers, you do not want to mess it up. This case should remain confidential no matter what." Burke stressed out to them and they nodded leaving the room. "Are you coming over tonight?" Casey asked and he immediately came to a stop hearing someone's voice ring in his ears. "No... Carry on without me." he replied without a single emotion that she seemed to desire. "Drake..." She persisted. "Mr Tavern wants to see you." A man immediately interrupted. "I know." he said and walked out without saying any other word. In the night, Sian came down from the car that parked right before her house. "Thank you." She whispered. "I'm glad I could help. Now you just take a rest and I hope to see you tomorrow in a better state." "Yes ma'am." Sian responded and Alex grinned. "Good night." Alex wished as the car drove out. Taking a deep breath, she walked inside the house only to see Lisa packing up into a carton. "What's going on?" Sian asked and Lisa dropped a paper on the table before her. Reluctantly, she opened it. "I'm getting transferred to another school?" She inquired. "Yes Sian. We're moving." "But why do we have to?" "Cause its not helping you. Your teacher called and he told me how much you're not getting good grades lately. I believe a new environment will be a new start." "No its not mom! I grew up and had all the memories here...." "Same reason why we should leave. That's what's good for us." "You don't know what's good for me. You obviously don't know anything at all, so don't claim this is in my best interest" "Honestly, I don't care how you feel about this Sian. Start getting use to the changes now cause this is my decision and its not going to change. So you better start packing. First thing tomorrow, we'll be leaving." Lisa said and went back to what she was doing. Angrily, Sian walked out. Lisa fell on the couch tiredly sobbing silently. "Lisa..." Her sister called from behind and she sat beside her. "I don't know what to do Veronica. I just can't do anything right." "Hey, moving sounds great to me. Just give her some time, she'll come around." "I don't expect better from her Vero, she always preferred her father to me. I don't blame her one bit, I never had time for her. Neither for her nor for Matthew." Lisa stated sniffing. "You tried your best. I understand you every bit, it isn't quite easy you know. Janet doesn't like me so much either, she prefers her dad." "That only shows that we're bad mothers." She said in tears and Veronica chuckled. "I guess so, but we both have a chance now to be better. If you need help, I'll always be here." She said and Lisa hugged her tightly. "I'm going to miss you." "Ill miss you too. But first, be a better mother Lisa, no matter what." Veronica replied and Lisa nodded. In the morning, Lisa is seen putting the last of her luggage in the boot. "Cmon Sian, hurry!" she shouted. She paused as she turned to the house and Veronica walked to her. "I don't know what I'm doing Vero. Is it really the right thing to do?" Lisa questioned. "Firstly, you made this decision all by yourself. Secondly, as a mother, your actions are justified. You're just doing what's best for Sian." She answered. "Sian was right you know. Its not easy to leave a place where you've spent almost half of your life in, having all the good and bad memories situated there." Lisa said. "Right. Same way it wasn't easy for you to leave our parents when you were getting married to Matthew. I can remember how many times your make-up had to be done because you kept on crying even before the wedding started." Veronica said and Lisa laughed softly. "But eventually you lived with him here for years Lisa. That's change for you. And for me, I think its time you and Sian experience that change. Things might just get better." She added and Lisa smiled hugging her. "Thank you for being with me when I needed it the most." Lisa spoke. "Oh Lisa. I haven't forgotten our childhood dreams of always having each others back. I'm just sticking to my script. And you don't have to worry about the house. I'll keep it safe and neat in case you wish to drop by anytime." Veronica responded and Lisa smiled. "Thank you." Lisa added again and Veronica nodded. Turning to Sian who just put her luggage inside the boot, she touched her cheek softly. "This is a good opportunity to have a life of your own out there Sian. Trust me, your mom only made this decision because she loves you." Veronica said and Sian nodded mutely. "And I also figured you couldn't call that friend of yours, so I did you the honours" she added and Lisa turned only to see Alex standing some steps away. "Alex." She called running to her and she hugged her tightly. "So you wanted to actually leave without telling no one." "I'm sorry. I just couldn't come up with what to tell you. My mom just told me all of a sudden when I got back yesterday." "And you thought it was better to just go out of sight without information?" "I'm sorry...." She apologised and Alex sniffed. "So, where are you going?" "I really don't know and I don't care cause this isn't really what I want." Sian answered and Alex nodded "Good for you Sian. Make sure you make as much friends that are not better than me because I am your only one true friend, got it?" Alex said holding her tears back in and Sian smiled nodding. "And also go on different dates. Make sure you send me a picture of your first date." Sian chuckled hearing her. "I will, I promise. I'll call you once I get there." Sian said and Alex nodded. "After everything you still didn't make it out with Darryl." "Apologise to him for me. I didn't really mean to ditch him." "No, I'm not going to do that for you this time. Call him yourself Sian. I'm sure he'll understand, he's not so much of a jerk like the other guys." Alex said. "Fine, I'll call him Alex." Sian said. Sniffing, Alex dragged her into an embrace. "Start your life again. Don't think of any other thing." she said and eased her off her embrace. "Go now, your mom is waiting." Sian stared at her speechless, then she walked back slowly to the car. Lisa smiled at Alex from where she stood waving at her and Alex waved back. She watched them enter the car cleaning the tears that fell down her cheeks. In the night, Drake stared by the window staring outside when his phone started ringing beside him. Seeing it was Casey, he threw the phone on top his bed. His hand immediately clenched into a fist as he remembered all his father said to him in his office. Suddenly, his eyes changed to blue and the force was about to push him towards the prey but he held the wall strongly trying to stop himself. "A shield has no chance to make mistakes because so many lives depends on him, but that's clearly worthless for you, isn't it? This is what makes you different from Erin. You act before you think." His father's voice rang in his head. He groaned angrily still trying to hold himself down. "Prove to me that you're worth holding a position as a shield. Don't go ruining my name out there! I hope you understand this once." With this, he hurriedly jumped down the window, running down the street like a lightening in the empty street.
