Lisa and Kevin walked in after Jenna. They walked to the end of the hallway and Jenna opened the door of the last room. All their parents siblings were already seated in the room making them altogether ten. They all stared at them as soon as they walked in and they just quietly sat down waiting for the lawyer. Lisa couldn't help but feel the room was weirdly quiet but she didn't dare say a word.
"You finally found a fiancee. You sure she's not another gold digger? You both might just end up breaking up right before you get married." One of the women broke the silence and Kevin stared at her.
"Its funny to point out who the real gold diggers are. I mean you all come here just to make sure we receive nothing from the will. We have every right to be here but can you really explain your reason for coming here?" He questioned.
"And if I can remember clearly, you were the one who bought Stacey off with money. It really surprises me to see how desperate each and every one of you can get." Jenna added.
"Its pretty easy to speak all the time Jenna. Its become a habit of yours, hasn't it? As a reporter, all you ever do is talk but in the end you never make any sense of it." The other woman spoke and Jenna rolled her eyes.
"You always seem to dig into your parents death. How irresponsible of you to not let the deceased lie peacefully." The third woman added adjusting her watch which was obviously worth millions.
"At least I'm not as greedy as you are to only care about the money. It all seemed like their death was all you have been waiting for." Jenna said gritting her teeth in anger and Kevin held her hand to keep her quiet knowing they were just trying to make her angry while they smirked.
"Where is Eli?" Melvyn asked and Kevin just ignored him turning to Lisa who just sat quietly staring at each and every one of them. For some reason, every single one of them in the room seemed filthy rich. Now she understood why Jenna made her dress the way she did, she would have felt so intimidated. Suddenly, they threw some words she didn't expect.
"Hmm... Such a cheap ring." Lisa turned to stare at the woman who spoke to see it was the one woman Jenna had warned her was so badmouthed than all of them put together, Hayden.
"Did you really put this in her finger Kevin? Its so pathetic, that I can't even watch." Hayden said and turned to Lisa. "What is your name?" She asked and Lisa had to take a deep breath to make sure she controlled herself.
"Lisa Matthews." Lisa answered.
"I love you already. I really hope you're here to stay though." Hayden said and chuckled while Jenna folded her hands angrily, Hayden was beginning to get on her nerves.
"I love giving to those I love. You can ask Jenna over here. When she came begging on her knees for money some years ago. I felt so pitiful and I gave her double the money she asked. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to pay the money in two years. I felt my kindness was for nothing. I hope you're not the same." Hayden said and smiled. "Here's a little gift from me. I know how you must feel knowing that Kevin can't afford a proper ring." She said and removed one of the rings on her finger.
"That ring is pretty expensive. I'm sure it will do. You might as well sell it anytime you feel short of money you know. Seeing the dress you put on right now, you would have wasted a fortune to get them. I don't want you to end up hungry after this." Hayden spoke. Lisa was seriously getting angry and just as Kevin was about to speak, she took the ring smiling.
"Its so lovely of you Hayden. This is my first time meeting you but trust me I've heard a lot of stories about you. But don't you think you shouldn't be giving out your expensive items? I heard you took a loan that you're yet to entirely pay. I mean, you should save up stuffs like this. So in case you run bankrupt, if you're not already, you'll have properties and jewelries like this to sell but obviously you don't know the value of anything. But since I love you too, you can always count on me to help. So first, I'll have to decline this gift. You keep it, it can come in handy." Lisa said and threw back the ring to her making her grit her teeth in anger.
"Right, there's one more thing... Can I get the ring Kevin?" She asked and he rose his eyebrows. "The ring." She repeated and he brought out the ring box from his pocket. She took it and smiled bringing out the ring.
"Kevin actually got this for me but I'd gladly give it to you as my gift." She said and everybody's eyes shone staring at the Ruby stoned ring. The ring was only found to be three in the world and it meant money.
"Where... Where did you get that from?" Hayden asked.
"Huh? It seems you're not interested. Besides its wrong of me to give out my ring for charity work. Right Kevin?" Hayden felt like she was about to explode in anger as Lisa said this watching her put the ring on her middle finger while Jenna smiled. She knew that telling Lisa about Hayden's collection of loan will come in handy. Before anyone could say any other word, the door opened revealing the lawyer who walked in and they all buried their thought within themselves.
"Sorry I'm late." He said sitting down at the extreme chair facing every one of them. He looked around and cleared his throat.
"Well, for years now this meeting has been getting postponed. Before I read the will out loud for everyone to hear, I want to confirm if Kevin fulfilled the requirements." He spoke.
"This is Lisa Matthews, my fiancee." Kevin introduced and he nodded bringing out the written will.
"On the 4th of September 2007, the will was written down by Mr and Mrs Peale. This is the will." He said opening it while Jenna and Kevin stared at themselves, that was the same day Bella was born.
"The Peale's Corporation has been willed to Mr Kevin Peale. The Peale's warehouse and touring Island has been willed to Mr Eli Peale. The Peale's mansion and reporting studio has been willed to Miss Jenna Peale. The Peale's accounts which contains a total amount of 50 billion dollars has been willed to..." He read and paused staring at all of them. It seemed like that was what each and everyone of them were eager to hear and know.
"It was willed to Miss Bella Peale when she comes of age." He said. Kevin and Jenna stared at themselves hearing this. Jenna immediately looked away as a dim expression plastered on her face while every one of them in the room smiled. Lisa noticed this and could only wonder who this Bella is, Jenna never said anything about her.
"But unfortunately Bella Peale is deceased. May her soul rest in Peace." The first woman spoke touching her head, chest and both shoulders as she said this and Jenna stared up at her, her eyes almost turning red in tears.
"Then the money will be distributed as a donation." Jenna said and they all frowned.
"I know you are still hurt by her death Jenna but don't forget we were also hurt. We can't do anything at this moment to change the past, let bygones be bygones. As the head of the family, the money should be entitled to me." Melvyn spoke and Jenna rolled her eyes. The man seated beside him smirked.
"Don't be too fast Melvyn. You should know I was the closest to the family, I was always trusted with every little information. So, its just fair if it will be willed to me." He spoke. This brought a huge argument as they all tried to indicate their share in the money. Jenna, Kevin and Lisa just stared at how greedy they could be.
"There is a next of kin." The lawyer immediately spoke shutting each and every one of them up.
"It says here that, Mr Kevin Peale will be in charge of the money until Miss Bella Peale comes of age." He said and Jenna revealed a sly smile staring at them.
"It just got interesting." Jenna stated.
"But...." They all paused hearing this. "It should be presented as a wedding gift to Mr Kevin Peale. If Mr Kevin Peale isn't still of age to get married, it should be willed to Mrs Hayden Scott." Hayden smiled as she heard this.
"That's impossible!" One of the women exclaimed.
"Face it Miranda, they loved me so much. You didn't expect, you will be willed the money, did you?" Hayden spoke to the woman.
"You speak with confidence Hayden. Have you forgotten what was read already? Kevin is of age to get married, there's no way it will be given to you." The other woman spoke while Lisa stared at Kevin not loving how things were turning out. Kevin never spoke of marriage to her.
"I heard everything Kellie but I doubt Kevin here is ready to get married. If I'm not wrong, this relationship of his is arranged." Hayden said and smirked leaning forward on the table.
"I know you so well Kevin, you're not ready to start over. In fact, you're still fighting on how to move on with all that happened years ago." She said and Kevin folded his hands angrily.
"I don't remember the will saying arranged relationships aren't allowed. The same way I had this arranged, is the same way I can also arrange a marriage Hayden. Lisa Matthews weds Kevin Peale is all I just need and I'll have everything I want. You don't have to worry, I'll make sure to invite you to the wedding, so you can see for yourself. After all you didn't marry your husband because you loved him, did you? " He questioned and Hayden gritted her teeth angrily while Lisa swallowed back her words. She knew this was all going down the wrong lane, it wasn't what they agreed.
"Then what happens to every one of us huh?" Kellie asked the lawyer in anger. In fact they were all angry that things didn't turn out in their favour.
"The original entitlements were their children but the rest of the properties here will be willed equally to every one of you." He said and she rolled her eyes.
"Do we look like beggars?!" Kellie exclaimed and he closed the written will packing it up in his bag.
"The rest of the Peale can receive their properties immediately but Mr Kevin will be an exception, for it is on the note that he must get married first." He said and stood up to leave.
"That will be all for today." He said and walked out. Kevin immediately stood up, holding Lisa by the hand, he also left along with Jenna when he heard a call.
"Kevin!" He paused and Hayden walked to him. "Do you know why your parents made sure you will be married before receiving the will? It was because of how irresponsible you were, you always made selfish decisions that will put everyone at risk in the end." Hayden said and smirked. "I'm still shocked that your parents gave you a greater part of the will because you were their one little regret. Trust me, its not yet over." Hayden said and walked out. Kevin stood for a with his eyes red in anger when Jenna spoke.
"Let's go." She said and he took a deep breath walking out.
Devon walked hurried into the investigation room and Seth walked to him
The car rode before the hospital and Vincent turned back to look at Sian who was busy typing on her laptop. He sighed coming down from the car and he opened the back door so she could come down and she stared at him.
"We're here." He said and her eyes shone. She hurriedly closed her laptop without bothering to put it off. She climbed down from the car walking inside and Vincent followed.
"Hello..." Sian greeted as soon as she got to the receptionist. "Um... I'm looking for Darryl Davis room please."
"Are you a relative?" The receptionist asked as she went through her record.
"No, just a friend." She said and the receptionist stared at her after confirming that the patient was actually admitted in their hospital.
"You came a little early though. Visiting hours will begin in some minutes time, please just be patient." She said and Sian smiled nodding walking back to sit down on the reception chair.
"I'll be back. Don't go anywhere." Vincent said and walked outside to the car. Opening the front door, he took out a bouquet of flower and a box. Just as he was about to close the door, he heard Sian's laptop beep and he paused. Staring inside the passageway of the hospital, he knew Sian was still seated inside. He immediately entered the back seat and opened the laptop only to see the page she was.
"Arrow Shield?" He muttered scrolling down the writing page. "Wow... So she is the anonymous writer." He said and scoffed. He could only wonder how she knew about this. Suddenly his eyes caught the book in her bag and he took it flipping through the pages.
"Matthew Lewis." Vincent read out the name of the writer and he rose his eyebrows. Definitely, the whole family knew about all this or Sian would just be acting out in ignorance. Checking the laptop again, he discovered someone was trying to hack into the account. He immediately checked the source and he paused seeing a logo appear. He was sure he had seen the logo before. He hurriedly snapped it and then blocked every points they could hack into. When he was done, he also snapped the book and left everything as it was.
He walked back into the hospital to find Sian still seated on the chair who had just finished making a call to Alex. She stared at him and down to the flowers and box he held.
"You should know when visiting someone in the hospital, you should carry a gift along with you." He said and she shut her eyes for a moment wondering how she forgot about that.
"I totally forgot." She muttered.
"Well, you'll thank me later." He said giving her the flowers and the box.
"What is this?" She inquired opening the box only to see a burgers
"How do you know he loves this?" She questioned and he shrugged.
"Darryl Davis, seventeen years old. Hometown is California. He loves surfing and soccer as a sport. He loves burgers a lot. He lost his mom at age five and his dad got married again. He Attended Dream Stone High from class two. Has been the whole school dream guy and is presently sick of cancer." Vincent spoke and she cruised her eyes.
"What the heck are you? How do you know all that." She questioned and he revealed a sly smile.
"You're welcome." He said sitting down beside her. Immediately Sian sighted the nurses down the room pushing a patient which they had covered the white blanket which meant he was dead. That's why she hated hospitals, Sian thought but didn't know why she was suddenly feeling happiness spring up within her seeing the body being pushed away. She immediately looked away and slapped her cheek so she could come back to her senses.
Before she knew it, she heard noises outside and then the sound of an ambulance. All the nurses nearby hurriedly rushed out with different stretchers and they pushed in different patients that were wounded.
"There was a fire outbreak. So many people sustained injuries." Sian heard a man say and she stared at the patients. It was as if at that moment she was loving what was going on. Their burnt skins, the blood, the pain they wee going through... She found herself drawing happiness from it all.
"Kill..." A voice suddenly whispered in her ears and the desire to see their deaths sprang up in her. Seeing this, she held the chair tightly only to hear one of the nurses speak.
"He's dead." She started breathing fast and stared at her hands only to see blood.
"Blood...." She muttered as her hands started shaking.
"Sian..." Vincent's call came next and she immediately came back to her senses. She shut her eyes taking a deep breath.
"Are you okay?" He asked and she stared at her hand again but didn't see any blood. She stared at him and smiled forcefully in response.
"Have you ever been happy watching people die?" She suddenly asked and he rose hi eyebrows.
"I was happy when my step mom died. She always use to serve us dog food as breakfast." He said and she exhaled deeply.
"Excuse me. Its visiting hours time, you can go see him now. He's in room 303." The receptionist immediately interrupted.
"Thank you." Sian said smiling and just as she stood up she heard her name.
"Sian." She turned back only to see Alex and she grinned.
"Alex." She called and hugged her tightly.
"You came. I thought you wouldn't make it." Alex said.
"I had to wait till the weekends. I'm glad I get to see you again." Sian said and Alex smiled.
"C'mon, I'll show you his room." Alex said leading the way only to discover Vincent was following them and she paused.
"Who are you?" Alex asked suspiciously.
"Its fine he came with me." Sian responded and stared at Vincent. "Wait here, I'll be back."
"I'm going anywhere you're going." Vincent replied.
"Even to the toilet? I'm not getting kidn*pped okay? I'm just visiting a friend." She stated.
"My kid sister got kidn*pped while visiting a friend." Vincent said and she rolled her eyes.
"You're weird..." She said and dragged Alex running down the hallways while Vincent sighed heavily. She was just wasting her energy cause he already knew the room number, he thought walking after them.
Sian walked slowly into the room with Alex behind her. Darryl laid on the bed facing the other end of the wall. When he heard some footsteps, he turned.
"Sian?" He called and she smiled sitting beside him. He wore a hair warmer because of his hair cut. His face was pale and white. He looked so weak and his eyes dim.
"I told you not to tell her Alex." He said.
"Are you kidding? You were there when my dad passed Darryl, this is the least I can do." Sian said and he scoffed.
"It wasn't a favour that should be returned Sian." He said.
"I didn't mean this to be a favour either." She said and dropped the bouquet of flower on the cupboard beside him. "I brought some burgers." She said and he smiled taking the box and sat up.
"Why didn't you tell anyone?" Sian asked and he shrugged.
"I tried but that was when you lost your dad and... I couldn't put more tension. Besides, its really weird announcing such stuffs to people." He replied. Immediately Alex phone rang.
"My mom... Be right back." She said and walked out leaving them alone.
"So... How is your new transfer school?" Darryl asked.
"They are filled with weird people." She said and he chuckled.
"You know, most times those weird ones turn out to be what you don't expect. When I first met you in Dream Stone, honestly I thought the same... You know, just a random weird girl but with time I figured who you really were. I couldn't come face to face with you and open up and I don't know why though." He said and grinned.
"But now I'm stuck with this sickness, I find myself opening up everything I couldn't say all these years. I'm glad you came Sian so I could tell you for real who you are. I can't explain it but you're someone so small yet is big within. Each and every time you manage to influence people close to you. And I ask myself, how do you do it? Then I realize, you don't actually do anything. Its just that, your silence speaks, your inactions acts, your scribbling projects loudly, your short sightedness reaches to the extreme, but you don't actually realize it Sian." He said and she rubbed her eyes as it turned teary.
"You're amazing. Please don't change." He stated and she stared downwards sniffing.
"I admit I started growing feelings for you and its stupid that I'm saying it now but I just want you to know. So that in anyway, if possible Darryl Davis will create some space somewhere in your life and if I don't make it...."
"Nothing's going to happen to you Darryl. You can fight this no matter how hard." She said and he smiled sniffing.
"Its strange hearing that Sian. In my life, I've only been recognized by what I lost and not what I fought to achieve. I was only good in the outside but in the inside...."
"That's crazy Darryl because I only wanted to be better in school to match up to you." She said and he paused. "What I knew back then was the Darryl that brought everyone together. You managed to turn a stone into a mountain of dreams that just not only remained dreams, but emanated into living. We no longer existed but lived Darryl. Apart from my dad, you were the second person I looked up to." She said and paused for a while.
"Now this is me telling you to fight this. Fight it till the end of it." She said and he paused.
"I'm getting discharged tomorrow. My parents said we'll have to leave back to my hometown."
"California?" She asked and he nodded.
"Mm. We have a doctor that will be in charge of my case already." He said and she smiled.
"Sounds good."
Immediately his mother walked in.
"Sian?" She called on seeing Sian and Sian smiled hugging her.
"Hello, Mrs Davis."
"How are you doing?" She asked.
"Great." Sian said and Mrs Davis sat on Darryl's bed talking with him. Suddenly, Sian's eyes caught the knife that laid on the table.
"Kill..." The voice immediately spoke and she shut her eyes struggling with herself.
"Shut up...." She muttered to herself but the urge wasn't going. As soon as she opened her eyes, it changed to gold which the people on the room were too busy to notice. She walked slowly to the knife holding it tightly.
"Sian?" Darryl suddenly caught her action and she stared up at him making them move back in fear seeing the colour of her eyes.
"What is wrong with you?" Darryl questioned and she started walking closer to him. All she wanted was to see blood flow. The desire was cropping up in her.
"Help!" Mrs Davis immediately screamed and threw the chair to her which she immediately caught.
"Sian please don't do this." Darryl spoke already weak and Sian walked angrily to Mrs Davis. She held her up by the neck while she struggled for breath and threw her to the wall.
"Mother!" Darryl called in tears only to see Sian walking towards him. He immediately removed the drip from his hand and fell off his bed breathing fast.
"Sian you have to come back to your senses." He said and she held him by the collar. Dragging him up, she immediately stabbed him and he gasped holding the knife. He stared at his hand only to see blood. Seeing the blood, she shut her eyes feeling a slight headache and as she opened it, her eyes changed to normal. She staggered backwards falling to the ground in shock as she stared at Darryl who also fell to the ground.
"Darryl...."
